Dear Maeve,

I really miss you. Grade eight is ending soon. Graduation is next Tuesday. I'm really nervous, I don't know what I'm going to do without you, my best friend, living next door. I wish our plans for highschool were still intact. But it's hard to keep them, without you around anymore.

Our class trip is tomorrow. I can't wait to spend a night away from this depressing city. Not much is going on other than that, though. Except that your birthday is coming up, of course. It's in 28 days. I've been counting. I'm still not sure what to get you.

Your parents aren't doing well. I'm pretty sure your dad got fired. Your mom spends all day inside. I check on them, every now and then.

But, enough of everything going on around me. How have you been? I feel pretty lost without you. Do you like where you are? Are you happier? I know you left after we fought. I'm really sorry for the things I said. Please come back, Maeve. I need you, and so do your parents.

I miss you.

Love, Grace.
