Monday came way too fast. I didn't want to go back to school. I woke up early because I told myself that I was going to doll myself up today. I took a shower, straightened my hair, did my makeup, and put on a pink dress, with tan wedges. I finished my look by adding a little lip gloss. Once I finished I grabbed my phone, got in my car and headed off to the hell hole we all call school.

I parked my car in the spot I parked in everyday. I was just about to get out when Grant came up to my door and opened it for me. I got out, smiled and kissed his cheek. "Hi Grant."

"Hello beautiful." I blushed and we walked into school holding hands. Me and Grant weren't boyfriend and girlfriend but I was thinking about it. We walked past Aiden and I smirked at him when we walked by. Aiden death glared Grant. I realize that Aiden didn't like him because me and Grant starting to like each other, but I feel like there was something I didn't know. Like there was something they weren't telling me. It bothered me, and I was going to find out was it was.

After school I told Grant that I had stuff to do. Actually I planned on talking to Aiden. I walked around the school till I found Aiden sitting in the library reading. Why is he in the library? Ha. What? He reads? I walked to the table he was sitting at and sat right across from him. "Hello Aiden." I said seriously. He looked up at me with a confused look on his face. Probably wondering why I'm talking to him because he is a piece of shit.

"Well hello Aspen. What do you need?"

"What's up with you and Grant? You guys are weird with each other and I don't know. I feel like there's something I don't know here. What am I missing?" I asked.

Aiden looked at me completely serious. Obviously something was up and I wanted to know now. "He's not who you think he is."

"What do you mean?"

"He's a liar. I'm trying to protect you, Aspen. But you're not letting me."

"How is he a liar?" I was so confused. Was Grant a liar? And if he was, what was he lying about? My phone vibrated but I didn't check it. I kept listening to what Aiden had to say.

"He's in a different wolf pack. The enemy pack. I'm the only one that knows. He was sent on a mission."

Aiden had a look with extreme worry. "And what is the mission?" I asked.

Aiden takes a long pause before answering me. "His mission is... to kill you.." My breathe caught in my throat. What? No way. Why the hell would Grant be trying to kill me? How did Aiden know about this so called mission. What if Aiden was just saying this so I wouldn't be with Grant. I didn't know what to think.

I quickly looked at my phone. It sent chills down my spine. It was from Grant. It read: I want to talk. Alone.

"Aiden, why would he want to kill me?"

"You're my mate. Well was.. But he knows I want you and will do anything. And he will kill you to ruin me. Because when an Alpha's real mate dies, they become very weak, and he wants to destroy our pack. And killing you is the only way he can."

"I- I - I got to go." I stuttered. I grabbed my bag and ran out the door and went to my locker. I was alert, I kept looking behind me making sure no one was there. I grabbed my notebook and keys and fast walked to the parking lot. There were 3 cars left. One being mine, the other being Aiden's, but whose was the third? I fast walked to my car and jabbed the keys into the ignition. I made sure I drove by the unknown car. I knew someone was in there, but right when I drove by they ducked. They looked familiar though, I just don't remember from where. I started speeding to my house, and I was so relieved when I got inside and locked the doors. First thing I did when I got home was a full house search. I looked through every single closet, room, and under every bed. Thank god I was alone.
