Marco's POV

"General Marco," a powerful voice boomed. I turned to see the captain looking directly at me. I stood there and waited for instruction.

"Yes Captain," I answered facing the captain with my hands by my side.

"Meet me down in the training area! Now!" The captain comanded. Everyone started laughing with their Ohhs and ahhs, Tom even punched me in the arm. I rolled my eyes and walked down the steps to the training area. I walked down and the lights were dimmed.

"Hello? Captain?" I asked the room. All of a sudden I felt arms snake around my neck and familiar lips planted on mine. The person pulled away and I looked them straight in the eye. "Captain your going to get us caught," I stated concerned. I looked into the Captain's crystal blue eyes and she giggled.

"Marco...you know when we're alone you don't have to call me that," she said her arms still wrapped around my neck. I chuckled a bit.

"I know Star but if we get caught no one would ever take us seriously, again. This could ruin us...ruin you," she frowned and put her hands to her sides.

"I know." She looked away from my gaze."You wanna actually practice then," she asked playfully. Star ran over to our weapon holder and grabbed a sword and shield. I did the same and we went in the middle of the room. "Go," she shouted and we started.

She swung at me and I blocked as I sliced at her. She laughed and I smiled as she hit my shield. We were both laughing and giggling. We got caught in a moment. I hit Star's shield out of her hand and her sword. Star then came at me, throwing punches. I quickly dropped my sword and shield and grabbed her balled up hands. We were both panting and sweating so we stopped. Her once slicked back ponytail was now a frizzy mess. I moved a strand of hair from her face that had fallen astray. She giggled.

I cupped one cheek and brought it closer to my face. She smiled as her eyes closed, I closed mine too and connected our lips. I moved one of my hands down to her hip and moved her closer. She wrapped her arms around me making us even closer. I felt like I was protecting her from every harm in the world. Star's hand moved up to the back of my head and she grabbed a hand full off hair. She pulled away and placed her forehead on mine with a grin across her face. "I love you," she whispered.

"I love you too captain," I chuckled and she playfully punched my arm as she stood up straight. Then something I feared would happen, happened. I heard slow clapping.

"Well. Well. Well. If it isn't the captain and the general, havin' fun down there you two," an all to familiar voice said from the stairs. Me and Star looked up.

"T-tom you can't tell anybody about this," Star said frantically. Tom had an evil smirk across his smug face.

"About what? How the captain and the general are smooching on the side...I can keep quiet. On one condition."

Star's POV

"What is this one condition," I said with power in my voice. Although I sounded powerful I was terrified, if anyone found out about me and Marco they would kick us out of the guard. Tom kept a devilish grin on his face as he looked down upon us.

"I want to be the new captain in training instead of that no good Kelly," he stated firmly. That seemed easy except for the part where I would have to demote Kelly...my childhood friend. I almost said no but at this point I had to say yes or my parents and everyone else would see me as someone who can't put their job before their emotions.

I hung my head and huffed. "Fine...I'll do it. Tomorrow morning," I said with defeat. Even though I couldn't see him I knew he had a victorious smirk on his face.

"Very well...you two may carry on," he said walking out of the room. I kept my head down in defeat as I felt Marco's arms wrap around me from the back as he placed butterfly kisses on my neck.

"I'm sorry Star," he whispered. Out of worry and rage I pushed him away from me.

"Marco we can't do that anymore," I said touching the side of my neck. "We might get caught by someone else."

Marco rolled his eyes and threw his hands up. "Just five minutes ago you were completely okay with kissing me ... and now you have a problem. I warned you Star," he protested.

"Yeah well when I kissed you again did you stop me! No! And now I have to tell Kelly that she can no longer have her job! The job she has been working to have since we were little!"

"Oh so now you're blaming this on me!"

I couldnt take it anymore. I couldn't take Marco yelling at me. I couldn't take the idea of demoting Kelly. I couldn't take the stress. I started to cry. I hugged myself tight. I held myself for dear life. "No Marco...it's not your fault. It's mine. I should have kept my feelings in check or at least hidden it better instead of hiding down here in the training area. I'm sorry," I wept. Marco ran over to me and hugged me. I excepted the hug and wrapped my arms around him too. "Marco...we can't keep doing this," I said my voice filled with sorrow.

He hugged me tighter. "We don't have to continue if you feel we shouldn't. But just know. No matter what I will always love you." He brought my face up to his and lightly kissed my lips. I knew it was right to quit no matter how much it hurt. I pulled him closer deepening the kiss knowing that for a while I would no longer feel the warmth of his lips on mine.

I got this idea while I was watching one of the Shrek movies. I hope ya'll enjoyed it. I might do a part two but I'm debating. Anyway as I always say....
