It was one of those days. Even a hard worker like me needs a break every now and then. Taking a break for me meant literally staying in bed all day. I mean sure I ate. Every now and then I guess. Sometimes I just lay there. Practice drains you like that. Today I was mindlessly scrolling through social media when I came across something... Interesting.
Apparently, my skating video had gotten some publicity. News sites were suggesting Brian Orser wanted me as a student. Shock coursed through me. Brian Orser? Ha. Fat chance. But something kept nagging at me. I checked my email.
Miki,

Brian Orser
For a while, I sat there in shock.
I mean anyone would obviously but I swear that was probably the stillest I've ever been in my entire life. Honestly.
And then I decided that I needed to think. I mean, if I got to be coached by Brian Orser, I would be able to flourish as a skater. I could go so far. But I would be moving to Canada, and I would be on my own. Not to mention I would get to meet my idol Yuzuru Hanyu. Yep. I definitely needed to get my thoughts together. Alone. So, I decided a quick trip to the rink to practice wouldn't hurt.
