Chapter 24

Stiles POV

As soon as Selena called and told me she found Isabella, I rushed to the place she described, and ran in. The scene in front of me horrificed, but relaxed me. Derek was on the ground hurt, but Scott was taking his pain away. Victoria was standing there with an arrow in her hand, but I heard she "saved the day". And Isabella was in a cage covered with Mountain Ash, but that's what I'm here for!

"Stiles!" Selena yells, runs up and hugs me. She's crying hysterically, so I try to comfort her.

"Shhh, baby it's okay, I'm here now. Isabella's going to be fine".

"I know, but she's only a couple months old and people are already after her! I- I - I did this to her. I-"

"No. There's nothing wrong with being supernatural, she's just going to have a little more to worry about than the average kid. And we'll always protect her. I'll always be here, We'll always be here" I sincerely replied, putting the emphasis on we.

"Now let me go get some tools from my car, so I can free her". I came back just minutes later with my tool box, and hammered away until the cage finally broke. I carefully took Isabella out of her cage and gave her to Selena.

Scott's POV

I was taking the pain out of Derek and a tear escaped my eye. His lifeless body was just lying there. He couldn't be dead, no this can't be happening! Out of no where I felt a hand on my shoulder... it was Victoria. I was still kind of mad at her, but she did risk her life coming here and she saved me, so I guess she won my trust back.

"He'll be okay, you should rest. Remember taking away too much pain can be dangerous, too"

"I know, I know"

~~~~ 1 hour later ~~~~~

I decided to take him to Deaton's. It was getting late and I couldn't just let him stay here... alone. My sister and Stiles were sitting there talking. I heard parts of their conversations, but I have no idea what they were talking about.

"Come on guys, let's take Derek to Deaton's, it's getting late and he hasn't woken up!"

The second I picked Derek up, his eyes shot open.

"Oh my god, Derek, you're awake!" I screamed excitedly.

"W- what happened?"

"Um, you don't remember? You- never mind. I think we should take you to Deaton"

"Deaton!"

I took Derek to the table in the back.

"I'm sure Stiles told you about Isabella being missing before. Well, we obviously found her. We were in a fight with some darach that apparently used to be Derek's old girlfriend. Well, we were fighting and long story short Derek was knocked out for a couple hours and just woke up"

Deaton nodded and looked through his cabinets and took out this green slimy looking bottle. He stuck a clean syringe in it and then stuck it in Derek.

"I'd have him stay here overnight and he should be good by tommorrow"

"Okay, thanks Deaton!

Selena's POV

"Oh yeah, and if it's okay with you, can you watch Isabella for us while we are at school? We haven't really thought about a SAFE babysitter for her."

"Of course, just drop her off in the morning"

"Really? Wow, thanks Deaton." I replied hugging him.

~~~~ Next day ~~~~

Selena's POV

"Hey Victoria!" I yelled catching up to her.

"Hey!" she replied, waving her hand.

"So umm... about yesterday... thank you. I never got a chance to thank you for saving our lives. And I'm really sorry for what I said before and for blowing up and being really mad at you. Mistakes happen" I said as kindly as I possibly could.

Victoria's POV

Sweet! Not only is Scott on my side, but Selena is too. This is perfect! They'll trust me and I can easily lure them to the nemeton.

Selena's POV

"Thanks", she replied.

"It means a lot, coming from you,

~~~~ After School ~~~~

"Hey, umm we should go see Derek", Scott told Stiles and I.

"Okay, we'll come. I want to see him and Isabella too"

"Okay"

Scott got on his dirt bike and Stiles and I drove in his jeep.

"So my Olympic training starts next week"

"Yeah" Stiles replied kind of disappointedly.

"Something wrong?" I asked.

"N- no... It's just that you're going to be famous soon. All the guys will be in love with you. Y- you'll forget about me". A tear shed from his eye.

"Stiles, I'm never going to forget you. Remember, we love each other forever and always? Plus, I have Isabella to remind me of you. Okay?"

"Okay". His lips met mine.

"I love you" I said against his lips.

"I love you too" he replied.

As I walked in, I saw Derek playing with Isabella. There's something I'm probably never going to see again.

"Derek, you're okay" I walked in and hugged him.

"Yeah, I'm fine" he chuckled.

"Hey, what happened after I got knocked out?" he asked. I explained to him all about how Victoria came and "saved the day".

"Don't trust her" he said as if he had some hatred towards her.

"Why? She seems perfectly nice"

"She's not. You know how you said she's from the Argent family? Well, a long time ago, her dad's sister killed everyone from my family. They were burned alive. SHE SET MY FRIGGIN HOUSE ON FIRE. My family's dead. The only people I have left are my sister and uncle!" he was furious now.

"Her name was Kate, I used to date her. I'm pretty sure her brother helped her start the fire and I'm pretty sure Victoria's just tricking you"

"I'm sorry, but I can't just judge her based on her family."

Just then, Scott walks in, followed by Stiles, a puppy and Deaton.

"Who's a good doggy" coos Stiles.

"And who might this be?" I ask taking the puppy from him.

"Well, Deaton's holding a pet adoption, and he gave us first pick" Stiles said putting emphasis on the us. Out of nowhere, the puppy leaped out of my hands and fell onto Isabella and licked her face. She started crying like, well a baby.

"I think a puppy would be a great idea" I chuckled.

Deaton took us out so we could sign all the papers. I focused my hearing on what Derek was saying. Figures. He's giving Scott the same "talk" about Victoria he gave me.

Scott's POV

I sat at my usual table next to Allison. I used to like her a lot. She's so... pretty a- and perfect. Plus, she already knows so much about me. She's everything a person could ask for. But, I kind of still love Victoria. I know what Derek thinks of her, but I really like her. And I know she cheated, kind of on me, but I mean, she did save my life. Ugh why does this have to be so hard? I think I'll ...
