Flight II

Really… really… really short again! But oh well, the next part is the last one~ so here you go!

~~~
The Goddess clan was devastated upon the disappearance of their heir, his younger brothers were kept away from the battle field and the Goddess clan, which should be lossing had grew powerful. Sly as they were, they had manage to get the rest of the clans into the war holding both sides of the war equal in power… The war was not going to end soon.
“Zeldris nearly died today…” Meliodas uttered, voice strained from screaming at Elizabeth for weeks. The demon flinch, looking over the goddess who was sitting down the floor, hugging his knees, just close to where the chain was linked to. He probably attempted to pull it earlier, and as hope vanished he found himself far too weak to even stand up.
She knew about that, the youngest was against the brainwashing of their clan and had tried to run away to look for his older brother. It was futile, for the demons were aiming of killing the most powerful of the goddess clan. If it wasn’t for her, the poor thing might have been dead by now.
However he knew made her curious.
“The three of us were created with a link Ellie, of course I’d know.” His emerald eyes were dull, swollen and dark probably from crying.
He was honestly tired of begging to be released, Elizabeth even doubting that he will still talk to her. She stared at the blonde, the goddess still pulling his knees close to him, face covered with his bangs now. His wings were beautiful as usually, brighter than the whitest snow and feathers seemingly glowing because of its golden highlight. Wings, they were the pride of the goddess clan, it was a proof that they were from one of the highest clan of the hierarchy, it was a proof that they were created after the high and supreme Diety.
That’s right… if clans just didn’t exist, if the term such as the goddesses and the demons was never created things would never come to this.
She loathes those wings.
“I’m sorry…” Elizabeth uttered for who knows how many times. She had stood up from the bed, walking towards the blonde who had completely ignored her.
It’s the difference’s fault…
All it’s fault…
“If I wasn’t just a demon…” She stoop down his level by then, stroking his hair, emerald and black once again meeting.
“If you weren’t just a goddess…” She had pulled him closer to her then on, burrying his face over her shoulder while stroking his hair. Her sight went dark, biting her lower lip as she stares at the clustere of feathers that completed his being.
“Things might have been easier…” A scream was ripped off his throat, black matter manifesting itself all around them, a black vine stabbing his upper right wings, impaling it againts the wall.
“No! No! No! What are you doing?!” He cried out trying to push her away, wings flapping wildly as trying to release itself from what oppressed it.
“Elizabeth!” The demon ignored his scream, another black vine impaling itself over the same wing. Another scream, tears once again falling as he grab unto her back. The demon flinch, feeling his nails burrying itself over his flesh, leaving red cresents over her back as he desperate squirmed and plead for freedom.
“It hurts! It hurts! Elizabeth please!!!” She could hear him sobbing with his head, near her ears. Her eyes were starting to feel hot as well, guilty, scared, pained but she just couldn’t let him go.
He screamed for the sixth time, his lower left wing being stabbed by another vine. His grip over her the clothes of her back loosen, choke sobs resonating around the room as his wings, his precious wings that granted him a feeling of genuine freedom were rendered immobile. He couldn’t fly, couldn’t even move them and he couldn’t believe that someone he once love so much could be so cruel and selfish to take something he held so dear.
The dark matter disappeared, leaving blades created out of demonic magic impaling his quivering wings. Good god, that was probably far more painful than being stabbed in the chest.
“Why…?” He sobbed, feeling dizzy, tired from screaming and dealing with the pain. Feathers were all over the place, blood staining some of them like how his wings were mildly painted in crimson. She bit her lower lip, moving away a bit to look at his face. His eyes were half lidded, tears completely staining his cheeks and eyes looking far more dull than before.
“I’m so sorry… I just—”
“You don’t…” Meliodas laughs weakly, cutting her before she could finish the statement.
“You don’t…” He sobbed it out this time. It was cruel to utter that, her horrified expression would ruin her if not for the situation. He was too understanding for his own good, he still understands her despite of what she was doing. She didn’t know anything about love, he thought her how to, it was the first time that she felt it…
And it pushed her to go this far… yet he felt like he’d want to say that.
“I just— please go…” Elizabeth bit her lower lip, standing up, leaving him like how he wanted her.
