In which Y/N loves mango juice and chemistry and Harry just wants attention (hers, to be more specific)

There was something about her that he couldn't exactly put his finger on. If you were to pass by her you wouldn't take a second glance, because she's nothing out of the ordinary. But once you get a closer look, it's like you can't take your eyes off her. Maybe it's the light sway she does when she talks to someone on the hallway, moving from one heel to the other. Or it could be the way she fiddles with her fingers under the desk every time before a quiz, mumbling to herself.

Perhaps the things that are odd about her make her so unique; like being the first one to hand in her exams every single time, blurting out the answers to equations without even meaning to, just because they were sitting on the tip of her tongue, or how she makes sure to clean her glasses with the sleeve of her sweater, exactly every 20 minutes.

Harry wouldn't necessarily call it stalking, he likes referring to it as "close observation" which makes it sound less creepy, in a way. He's never really noticed her before, until he actually took a closer look at her in one of their shared classes one day. She always has her eyes glued either to the front of the room where the teacher is, or on her desk where she writes down notes. Doesn't really look anywhere else which frustrates him beyond belief because for some reason he just wants for her to look at him.

Only now does he realize how annoying it is when not all attention is on him. Does that make him egotistical and kind of pathetic? Absolutely, but he can't help it. He likes being the centre of attention, that's the way things have always been ever since primary school. He's not good at football, or sports in general, has never been exceptionally smart or anything, the only thing he's good at is cracking jokes and being charming. That's how he usually gets people to like him.

Over the small period of time he's been spending lately just noticing stuff about her, he realized he likes her. A lot actually. He likes the way she twirls her pencils between her fingers but then stops when she catches herself doing it; the way she tries to keep a good posture, but then gives up halfway through the class, placing one of her legs underneath herself and leaning her chin in the palm of her hand.

So when he heard that she was tutoring some people on the side, he just knew he had to get on her list. He wasn't the best at chemistry anyway, so there was no downside in this. Staying behind after class, he asked the teacher about her, if he could somehow get her to help him as well and he just knew she wouldn't say no, the little thing had too big of a soul to refuse anyone.

That's how he ended up every Friday after school in the library with her, trying his damn hardest to focus on the material she had prepared for him instead of looking at her the whole time. He wouldn't always pay attention, making her frown and shake her head whenever she had to repeat herself, but he liked the annoyed look on her face.

"Cute." He would mutter to himself every time.

He liked the way she caught her breath whenever he would lean in closer, the way her cheeks flushed when he would make a remark about how pretty she looked that day and when he would call her pet names, or the slight pitch in her tone when he would tuck her hair behind her ear because he couldn't see her face all that well and he didn't like that.

He didn't mean to, really didn't, but he just could not stop staring at her lips. The way they moved whenever she talked, how she bit at her bottom one whenever she tried to get her point across, but he just acted dumb as if he didn't understand, although he clearly did.

He's tried multiple times to get her to hang out with him after class but she was always busy with something else, and he wasn't sure if she only said that because she didn't want to spend time with him or she was genuinely busy. He chose the latter, because he knew she wouldn't do such thing, she was too good.
