Lee chuckles, but Seabury's pale face soon bursts with expression and encouragement, "I am not throwing away my shot, I am not throwing away my shot. Hey yo-" Seabury jumps onto the table that Lee's sitting at and continue's, "-I'm just like my country I'm young scrappy and hungry and I'm not throwing away my shot!" Madison, Jefferson and John all smile at one another, raising their glasses. "I'm 'a get a scholarship to King's College! I prob'ly shouldn't brag, but dag, I amaze and astonish!" "Sure.." Lee mumbles underneath his breath, tipping his hat. "See now, the problem is I got a lot of brains but no polish..!" John grins, jumping up on the same table as Seabury, quickly Lee holds the table still, the table shakes as they dance.
Seabury continues, soon enough the entire bar is singing along. Lee sighs in disapproval, shaking his head and muttering to himself. Thomas puts one leg up, resting it on a table looking all heroic or whatever.. "I dream of life without a monarchy! The unrest in France will lead to onarchy? Onarchy.. Wait, I forgot how do you say.. How do you say it!" Madison mutters to himself, "Anarchy.." "OH, ANARCHY!" Madison chuckles to himself, so does everyone in the bar besides Lee. "When I fight, I make the other side panicky with my, SHOT!"
John walks over to to their table and leans against it, "Yo, I'm a tailor's apprentice. And I got ya'll idiots in a loco parentis. I'm only joining the rebellion because I know it's my chance to socially advance, instead of sewin' some pants. And with that, I'm gonna take a shot!"
Madison scoffs, getting picked up by John. "AH!" Madison HATES getting picked up. He crosses his arms, "And although... We will never be truly free. Until those in bondage have the same rights as you and me." He sings, pointing between him and everyone in the crowd. "You and I. Do or die. Wait till I sally in, on a stallion with the first black battalion have another shot!"
Everyone turns their glances over to Lee, Lee's throat dries, he slowly stands up and flicks John on the nose, "Geniuses, lower your voice.." He begins, sarcastically. "You keep out of trouble and you double your choices." "Damn right we do.." They all mutter. "I'm with you, but this situation is fraught. You've got to be carefully taught! If you talk, you're gonna get shot!" Lee reminds them, slightly concerned for Seabury's safety most of all. Seabury chuckles, hopping off the table. "Lee, check what we got! Mister Jefferson, hard rock like Lancelot. I think your pants look hot! Madison I like you a lot!" "Thank you.~" "Let's hatch a plot blacker than the kettle callin' the pot!" "Oooohhh!!" "What are the odds the gods would put us all in one spot. Poppin' a squat on conventional wisdom, like it or not! A bunch of revolutionary manumission abolitionists? Give me a position, show me where the ammunition is!!" Seabury shouts, smashing his glass on the ground, shards scattering everywhere.
"Oops.." Seabury nervously chuckles, "Sorry.." He mutters, shooting an apologetic look over the the bartender. The bartender just sighs and begins cleaning up the mess. "I-I'm sorry was I talkin' to loud? Sometimes I get over excited, shoot off at the mouth.. I never had a group of friends before I promise that I'll make ya'll proud..."
"LETS GET THIS GUY IN FRONT OF A CROWD!" Madison squeals.
Everyone bursts out of the bar, Madison and Jefferson hold up Seabury whilst Laurens just follows along. "I AM NOT THROWING AWAY MY SHOT!" They all begin chanting once again. So, this is what it's like to have friends..? Seabury thinks, grinning to himself.
Inside of the bar, Lee sits alone at a table. After cleaning up the shatters of glass the bartender sits down next to him. Lee sighs, "They'll never learn.." The bartender turns his glance to Lee, "Ah, you the kids father?" Lee smiles and giggles, "No." "Ah, sorry." The bartender looks down. "So, want a drink? Or you could just join them?" Lee rests his head on his hands, rubbing his eyes. "Nah, but I'll take the whiskey." The bartender chuckles, "Got it sir, it's on the house." "Thanks. Oh, by the way?" "Yes?" the bartender glances over at Lee once again. "You always on shift when I'm here, I see you and talk to you a lot. Got a name?" The bartender grins, "Ah, my names Ollie." (If anyone get's the reference please, tell me. xD) "Oh, alright. Ah thanks." Ollie nods, placing the whiskey on the table with a loud thump. "Mind if I hang around here for a while?" Lee asks. "Not at all, stay for ever. I don't give a shit." "Alright, thanks."
"NOT THROWING AWAY MY SHOT!" Seabury and others jump and dance, John grabs Seabury. "Sam?" Seabury flinches, "Huh?" "Want to take a walk with me, Mad Hatter and Jeffershit?"
"Sure!"
