Moonlight Sagi [English Version]

Chapter 03

DECEMBER 25, 2017 5:30 PM

MARIYA

My name is Mariya Tanaka, an English teacher at the prestigious Horikoshi Gakuen. I have to admit it's not easy teaching spoiled rich kids but I gotta endure.

"Happy Birthday!" greeted my co-workers. 

"You're 25 now, it's about time you get a boyfriend." a co-worker teased.

I just smiled. 

Some of the students even gave me roses, stuffed stoys and chocolates. What I'm afraid of are the naughty students who loves pranking me.

"Happy Birthday Ms. Mariya! Here's a cake as a token of our appreciation to a great teacher. Please accept it."

Three of my students handed me a chocolate cake but before I could even blow the candle it exploded right to my face. All three of them ran while laughing. I just shook my head.

My phone rang while I was at comfort room wiping all the icing on my face. It was Nami, my best friend.

"Hey, aren't you going home yet? Sakura's already here. If you're not here by 6 we'll eat your favorite strawberry cake."

"Hey!"

And they hung up the phone.

Nami and Sakura are my only true friends and they never miss any of my birthdays since we all became friends. It's just kinda sad that my parents aren't here to celebrate with me because of a business trip abroad.

They threw confetti at me when I got home. They also put a party hat on me. "Alright, sit down. It's your special day today.

"How are you, guys? I haven't seen you in forever."

Sakura cleared her throat. "I'm interning at a famous hospital. And soon, I'll be Doctor Sakura."

"Really? But aren't you scared of blood." I teased.

"You know what, just blow your candle."

"Fine, fine." I closed my eyes, said my wish and slowly blew the candle.

DECEMBER 25, 2017 10:00 PM

In a mansion not far from the city...

"It's time." said Roku. 

The vampire monk together with his wife, Shiori, went to where Sagi's body was hidden. Roku was right. Sagi was already awake when they reached his room.

"Mother... where am I?" Those were Sagi's first word after waking up from slumber. "Mother..."

"How are you feeling, Sagi?" asked Shiori.

"Tell me, where is my mother?"

"Your mother died from a disease." Roku explained.

But Sagi's eyes turned blue. "Lies! I know you are lying. My mother didn't die from a disease. Liar!" and he attacked Roku with the strong intent to kill.

Shiori held Sagi's hands. Her power was able to calm him down. Sagi sat in a corner after that.

Shiori's phone rang. It was a call from a friend.

"We felt that. Is he... finally awake?" the girl on the other line asked.

"Yes."

"Okay, we're on our way. Good thing we just got back from states."

"Thank you, Seiri."

DECEMBER 25, 2017 10:30 PM

"I didn't know you had a scar on your nape, Mariya." Nami said while they were drinking and singing at a karaoke.

"What? I don't have a scar." Mariya unconsciously touched her nape.

Nami just shrugged it and continue drinking.

The party lasted until dawn. All three of them got drunk they didn't even realized they fell asleep on the living room.

"Holy crap, I'm already late!" Mariya exclaimed when she woke up and saw the time.

"Frack, me too."

They all hurriedly fixed theirselves and rushed to the door.

Roku and Shiori told everything that happened last night to the visitors.

"Who are they? Are they my mother's friend?" asked Sagi.

"Good morning, Your Highness. I am Hamabe Seiri and this is my brother, Hamabe Uni. We will take care of you from now on." Seiri politely said.

"Your Highness, we are from the wolf clan. And I, Uni is the leader of the pack." he explained.

"Will you be able to help me find who slaughtered my parents?" Sagi looked at Uni intently.

Roku placed a hand on Sagi's shoulder. "It's not gonna be easy. Now that you are awake, the vampires will also be on the hunt for you."

"My people have been training for this. We will help."

"Uni, I heard you're already a doctor at a famous hospital." Shiori said.

"Yes and I will probably continue my practice here."

"You'll help a lot." Roku smiled.

Uni nodded. "And Seiri became a teacher, very different from being a doctor."

"But it will help me, now that I've seen in a vision that Sagi's wife is a teacher too." Seiri beamed.

Sagi stood up, shocked from what he just heard. "A wife?!"

"Yes. And she's the reason why you are awake now. Last night was her twenty fifth birthday. The date written on the prophesy."

"No, I will never accept that."
