Uneasy. Extremely uneasy — this was how I felt the time I entered that hall. Flashing all around the space, were bright lights in different colors. The room was gigantic, as well as the number of people in it. I'm not claustrophobic, partiophobic (I don't know where I got this lol it's supposed to mean fear of parties), or anything. I just felt uneasy.

A few moments later, the loud stream of music caused the people to dance like there's no tomorrow, bright smiles plastered onto every single one of their faces. They seemed to be having fun, which was nothing similar to what I felt that night.

I never asked someone to dance with me during the party, and it's not only because I didn't feel like it, but also because I was too shy. Even shy was an understatement, I think.

I sat right there at the side, with little to no participation at all, until . . .

"Hi there, Wilson," a girl wearing a black and blue dress asked me. I stared at her blankly, matching the equally blank expression on my face.

I almost felt sorry for her, so I replied, "What do you want?"

"Is it possible that we can dance together?" she asked, a sheepish grin forming on her face.

"Uh, uhm, but—," I was cut off.

"Don't worry. We're on the same side," she said, following it with a quick wink.

I readily understood what she meant, so I did the honors and gave her my hand.

We danced, forgetting all our worries and thoughts even for a few moments. The feeling was magical. I never felt that way before.

Then, we stayed right where I was from the start. We watched the people lose themselves to the beautiful music. More importantly, we had fun. We were there, staying on the sidelines together.
