"Must've been hard being twenty-two going into war" said Jennifer. James nodded from her comment.

"You described yourself being impatient going into war, what changed your opinion?"

James smirked, "Boarding that plane, I'd realize that going into war that I have a hundred percent seeing men dying in front of me, friend and foe alike. Plus at the time, I didn't know if I would come back home and see my family"

"Did you ever lose anyone close to you from the war?" ask Jennifer.

James felt like someone punched him in the gut. He looked down at the floor and nodded silently.

"I lost friends and family...my older brother died" James paused for a moment. A small tear fell from his eye but tried to blink it away. "He died with two thousand other men at Pearl Harbor. They never recovered his body. I remember I was leaving home to go to work then I heard the news on the radio. I remember hoping that he would survive but we never gotten any response until two men came knocking on our door telling us that he and other soldiers were trapped inside the U.S.S Arizona. It was then where I decided to go into the Navy."
