Never Be The Same

Chapter Three

My dad and mom?  What are they doing  here?  I thought angrily . They can't just dump me at some boarding school just because they were fucking cowards who couldn't even face their daughter after she went through some pretty fucked up shit

'Lisa!!' My dad shouted rather too enthusiastically for my taste .He was smiling like everything is fine(he's always the optimist )  and my mom was just standing there looking rather bored.

I tentatively took cautious steps towards my sorry excuse of parents and it took everything in me not to break down . A part of me was angry , another part was hurt , sad and confused .

What are you guys doing here?! I managed to choke out , my voice breaking  in the end

"Now now Lisa , No need for the dramatics " My mother sighs with her usual calm and bored demeanour. 

The fact that she called me dramatic after all that I endured heightened my anger to unlimited heights

I quickly take a deep breath , composing myself

"I asked you guys a question , what are you doing here ?" I ask , lacing each and every word with as much venom as I could master .

" Well , uhm Lisa we came to check -

"Don't give me that crap dad ! Cut to the chase " I say . Before he even gets to finish his sentence 

"We are your parents Lisa , we are really  concerned about you and we would really like you to cooperate " My dad says , with a hopeful glint in his eyes

"Fuck cooperation . As far as I'm concerned,  I have no parents " I mean , how dare they do this to me . They leave me for months without a single phone call after that night . I needed them to be my parents that night  . But they decided that their reputation was much more important than me . They made their bed and now it's time they lay in it .

" I have had enough bullshit to last me a lifetime and quite frankly , you guys being here just makes me want to go to a mental asylum and sign myself up . Now , would you please leave " I sigh

I don't know if it's what I said , or if it's because the matron is about to lock is in , but my parents finally tear their gaze away from me and start walking to their car

I'm a bit relieved and disappointed that they left . I mean , they didn't even put up a fight.  After all , they left me during that night and it only makes sense that they leave me now right ? After all , they are good at running away from their problems .

The sound of a door closing snaps me out of my thoughts. I quickly look towards the hostel door and see that the matron is about to lock . I Sprint towards the door and she gives me warning glare before opening up for me .

Today has been a long day and I feel really tired as I plop down on my bed . And as usual,  my roommates are making a lot of noise.  Usually I don't mind the noise but today I'm not in the mood to hear about the latest scandal , so I shut them up .

'Tone it down will you !?'I say and they all look at me as if I've grown another head .

I shrug and continue my process of getting into bed . I change into my pj's and just when I'm about to wear my socks , a text message gets in

I decide that I'm going to open it later . I finish wearing my PJ's and grab my copy of Pride And Prejudice to read before sleeping .

Just as I'm really engrossed with the book , another text message gets in . Argh,  no I will view it tomorrow 

I drift off to sleep with the thoughts my mom and dad and the sinking feeling in my stomach increases.
