Looking up from her phone, the girl felt a sadness coat her system, a wail of complete sorrow rising like bile in her throat. She knew she loved Bryce- that was obvious. But how could she not have seen the obvious hints he accidentally let slip?
He decided to go home earlier than the said girl, of course he's going to meet another person who steals his heart. But so quickly? There's no way.
He obviously did this behind her back.
David reached over the oak table slowly, letting his hand settle on her shoulder, pulling her out of her daze.
"Are you alright?" He asked, a glint of worry swirling in his eyes. His hand slid from her shoulder down to her arm.
She pulled her gaze away from her phone, and let her eyes wonder back to his face. Her eyes searched his, and she took in his features carefully.
He sat back into his seat, before giving her a sorrowful smile, but she didn't return it.
"Alright, here's your check, mister." The waitress sashayed her way back to their table, her blonde hair swishing. She gave him a sweet smile, but completely ignored [Y/n].
"Thank you." David gave her a fake smile. She kindly waited for his cash.
David set down the amount the order cost, and stood up, drink in hand. He gestured to the [e/c] eyed girl to follow him. Nodding, the girl stood up and left the store, walking next to David.
The restaurant wasn't very far away from the hospital, so they walked the estimated 10 minutes of the way.
[Y/n]'s head began to droop, her eyes watering. Bryce was really gone. He slipped out of her slim fingers, she was too slow and delicate, she lost him.
She let out a shaken breath, a tear sliding down her cheek. She let out a stifled sob of sorrow, before something caught her attention. A hand slowly slipped into hers, before gently squeezing it. She let her head shoot up, before her gaze trailed to her hand. David intertwined his fingers with hers, before blushing and looking away. She felt herself giggle, before she tightened her grip on his hand.
David's blush deepened, and he stared at the [h/c] haired girl in astonishment. He felt a smile crawl onto his pale lips, and he tightened his grip just a bit. Feeling more confident, he stood up straight, and continued walking down the pale looking sidewalk in moonlight.
The lovebirds were approaching the car, a conversation began to buzz on David's lips.
"Hey, [y/n].. I'm here for you. You know.. while you're struggling with the breakup and.. everything else." David gave her a smile that made her crack her own smile.
Her smile faded away. What did he mean by 'everything else'? "Everything else?" She asked, the question rolling off her tongue before she could contemplate what she did.
"Ohh.. I thought you knew. When we were in highschool, you were depressed. You... You cut. And I helped you." He explained shortly. The girl nodded, but no break in her emotions nor thoughts happened. She was going to stay strong, and she was going to make sure of it.
They made it to the car. David climbed into the driving side, and [Y/n] climbed into the passenger seat.
⚜Pulling into the parking way for the apartments, David opened [Y/n]'s door for her. He locked the car, and took her hand into his. They made their way to the elevator, going to the 2nd floor and heading to her numbered apartment.
Turning the corner, [Y/n] almost rammed straight into a tall man wearing a bkue hooded jacket.
He turned around, his face seemed recognizable. His eyes narrowed at David, then at [Y/n]. His eyes widened ever so slightly.
"What are you doing here?" David asked. The man shrugged.
"I wanted to visit her, I heard from Evan that she was out of her coma." He pulldd himself upright, since he was leaning on the wall. "Its been a while, ya know. Glad to see you up and about."
David gave a smirk to the boy. "Yeah, yeah. Well, what really brought you here, Del?"
Del? The girl thought. Why does that seem familiar?
She began to study him, looking him up and down before she placed a finger on her chin. The man seemed to notice, for he smirked and jokingly put a hand on his hip.
"See something you like?" He asked cockily, but the girl completely ignored him.
Instead, she pulled her gaze to his eyes and her [e/c] eyes narrowed at baby blue.
"Whats your name?" She asked, her gaze never faltering when a frown was placed on his lips.
"Delirious." He answered, before intertwining his fingers and placing them on the back of his head.
The girl continued to stare, as David quietly walked to the door and unlocked it with the key [Y/n] gave him. 'Delirious' followed them into her apartment, before immediately making himself at home.
"Dont get too comfortable." David let his head turn from the room to his friend.
"Why not? I thought I would crash here since i haven't bought my own place yet." Delirious shrugged. "Or doeas rent sound better? Thias place seems expensive."
"Actually...," [Y/n] butt in. "It was the cheapest here."
"Damb. That's still a lot, though." He chuckled.
"You're telling me." [Y/n] rolled her eyes.
"Yeah, I am." Delirious cockily answered. "Im going to the bathroom." Delirious threw himself off the couch and into the bathroom eithin 5 seconds.
David stared at the closed door, before turning to [Y/n].
"What now?" David asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I dont know?" The girl replied, shrugging.
Within another minute, Delirious walked back out.
"What did I miss?" Delirious chuckled, striking a strange pose.
David rolled his eyes. "Nothing. Literally."
