Depression is feelings of severe despondency and dejection. Emily Renolds is a sixteen year old teenager who has struggled with manic depression the majority of her life. She has pulled away from everything and everyone. She's ready to give up. She wants nothing more than to stop trying to be someone she's not. She's tired of fighting for her life back. No one understands. She wishes that they did but the honest truth is that they won't unless they have been through what she has. She absolutely hates it when people say that depression and self harm is just to get attention. That's not true. Sometimes it's just easier to deal with the physical pain instead of the emotional pain. She didn't have a choice. She didn't chose depression. It chose her. She hates it. She can't get rid of it. No matter how hard she tries, she can't break free. She doesn't understand why all of this is happening. What did she do to deserve this? It will come to an end though. It always does. Emily Renolds will either break free or die trying to.
