**Ned**
I hear screaming in the room next to me, Roger and Blaine’s room.
I’m doing my homework. I drop my pencil and run out the door. I get to their door and rush in, I scream when I see the blood.
“M-Monica!” I yell as loud as I can. Sydnee has rushed up the stairs from the girl’s floor, I guess she heard the screaming. I hold out my hand so she doesn’t come any further.
“Go get Monica, now!” I say quickly. She nods and runs down the stairs.
My mind is going crazy. What the hell happened? I try to process what to do next. I should help. Help.
I rush over to where Blaine and Roger are. Blaine has a dead-looking Roger in his arms. Blaine is still screaming, he looks so terrified. It’s the most tragic thing I have ever seen.
“Okay, Blaine, calm down,” I manage to say. He looks up at me, he is crying, but he has stopped screaming.
“I’ll grab his legs,” I say gently. He nods and grabs underneath Roger’s arms. We start to carry him out of the room.
Monica rushes in. She takes everything in, but for the sake of us, she stays calm. “I called 9-1-1” she says. I nod, and she helps us bring Roger down the stairs. When we reach the girl floor, Tina rushes over.
“Hold that shirt on his wrist tightly,” I command her. She looks at me quickly, a panicked look on her face, But she does as I say.
We’re on the first floor by the time the ambulance is there. The paramedics rush in with their gurney and help us place Roger on it.
“Who’s the guardian?” one of the paramedics says. Monica raises her hand slightly. They tell her to get in the back of the ambulance with Roger. She walks out of the house alongside Roger on the gurney.
By now August is downstairs, and him and I have to hold Blaine back. He is trying to run to Roger. “I want to go with him! I need too!” he shouts.
“You can’t. Only Monica can.... I’m sorry” August says, trying to soothe him. It’s useless, Blaine is full out freaking.
Tina and Sydnee look at us pleadingly. They can’t handle this. “Go make some tea” I say to them as August and I set Blaine down on the couch in the eating room.
He has settled a bit, but he’s still going crazy. Sydnee and Tina come back with the tea. We give a cup to Blaine and he sips it slowly. A few minutes later I try to ask him what happened.
“I don’t know..” he says quietly. Sydnee and Tina sit in front of him on the floor. They pat his knees. He doesn’t even notice. He seems lost. I feel so bad for him. Having to see his best friend like that.
The phone rings and Tina gets up to answer it. A few minutes later she comes back and sits down.
We all look at her expectantly. “It was Monica, she said he has lost a lot of blood, but he should be okay” she says.
We all sigh with relief, and Blaine starts to look a little bit more alive.
“We can visit him tomorrow, we’ll all go. She said we can miss school,” Tina explains. “She says we should all get some sleep...” Tina trails off.
“He can sleep in my room” Sydnee volunteers because she is the only with a double bed. And Blaine cannot sleep in his own room...with all that blood.
Blaine nods and gets up. He places his cup down and goes upstairs with Sydnee.
