Jaice-
After we drop Naya off I feel a strange pull on my body.
"Mom go back to Naya's house I forgot I have her necklace." I know I know lying is bad and what not, but when you feel something like you'll know why I did that.
We get to Naya's giant house and I feel the pull get stronger. Yup it's definitely coming from her. I race in the house and towards the pull. Naya is talking to a dark figure very focused on the rose colored vase her mother loves more than her kids.
"You caused me to have these weird powers now I must use them against you." All I see is a flash of light and the figure is gone.
"Naya what happened." My voice is shaky and I know it.
"Uh... Surprise I have magical powers," Naya's normally soft innocent brown eyes now look dangerous and anger driven.
"I have powers too mine are more linked to protecting you though. I knew something was wrong, so I had my mom drive me back here," I sigh knowing she's about scold me for not telling her and lying to my mom.
As I tune Naya out I see a small box with a note on top. I walk towards it and pick up the note. " What's that?" Naya questions and I give her a look that tells to not ask me that question.
"Don't you think if I knew I would tell you genius," Naya lifts the box using her powers and opens it before I can reach it.
"It's a picture of us as babies," Naya begins to sob, " This is before we were taken."
How did this random woman get this photo? My mom always told me that my kidnapper had taken me because of how much money my parents had had at the time. Did she lie to me?
"Naya come here," I pull her towards me, "We're going to find that woman and we are going to bring her down. Call your parents and tell them you're going with me on a camping trip for a week. Say that you got a text from me saying that there's a trip that was kind of last minute. I'll tell my mom I'm going on a camping trip."
"Okay, but what should I pack and where are we being dropped off?"
"Bring two sleeping bags, four blankets, three pillows, fourteen outfits and your special theater makeup. We'll stop by family dollar and pick up some food, water and miscellaneous items," My tone is serious because I know if she's not overly prepared her anxiety will kick in.
"Want to take my car or are we taking your truck?" I can see the mischief in her eyes now.
In our little hillbilly town you get your license at twelve as long as your the right height, weight and the right metal stability. So Naya and I have had ours for a year, but we like our parents driving cause no one asks for a ride.
"We're taking my truck so we have space and so I don't have to hear your dad complain about your car getting messy," She already knew the answer to the question the moment it left her lips she just wanted to hear me bad mouth her dad.
"Ok I'll see you in two hours. Bring your camping stuff and I'll get my gallon jugs."
