chapter 4: outcast island

hey guys!

i noticed I dont have many followers, reads, comments or likes so can the people who do read this please mention it to others? it would really help me a lot and I know the story isn't very interesting yet but I have a really good idea I just need to work up to it. anyway I promise itll get better soon!

(hiccups POV)

"why would the trail lead here?" I thought to myself.

"we need a place to land without being seen!" astrid yells to me over the wind.

I look around and find a clearing in the woods.

"over there!" I yell to astrid while pointing at the clearing.

we land and from a hill, we could see their dragon arena.

"those ice blasts look familiar..." I hear astrid whisper.

"I think I saw them in one of fishleg's dragon books. if im right, which i always am, its from a bewilderbeast." she explains

"well if you are right, this dragon must be huge" I whisper back.

"what do we do?" she asks

I look around. "we need to get a closer look.."

I look around trying to find a way in without being seen.

"look over there!" astrid points to an outline in the grass.

I walk over to get a closer look.

"it looks like there was a tunnel here" I say

"maybe there still is" astrid says.

she looks like she's onto something.

I put my foot on the outline trying to test it, but I end up falling into a hole!

(Astrid's POV)

we found an outline in the grass, hiccup thinks it could be a tunnel to somewhere.

he puts his foot on it to test it and ends up falling!

"hiccup!" I shout

I crouch by the now exposed hole and look for hiccup. its so dark I can't see anything.

"I'm ok!" he shouts back.

"its ok I'll get you out!" I look back, searching for something to pull him up with.

"no! it looks like it's leading somewhere! come on let's check it out!"

I roll my eyes and jump down the hole.

its way deeper than I thought it would be and as I fall I scream.

closing my eyes waiting for impact, it doesn't come.

someone caught me...hiccup caught me!

we stay there and he holds me (bridal style!)

he puts me down and asks if I'm ok. even though its dark I know he must be blushing.

"yea..I'm fine" I answer dusting myself off.

"ready?" he asks

just before I could answer toothless and stormfly drop down behind us!

we both laugh

"yup" I finally answer

we all start down the dark tunnel.

"it would be helpful to have light right now" hiccup says annoyed but it still sounded cute in his dorky voice

he picks up a stick from the ground and toothless lights it for him.

we walk in silence for a while.

I break the silence.

"is it always gonna be this awkward now between us?" I ask

"what do you mean?" he says with a questioning look

"I mean...you asked me out...so were..dating now I guess? I just dont want things to be awkward."

he stops walking.

"me neither...I dont want things to be awkward, but I also dont want us to be just friends"

I blush and look down but he pulls my head up with the slightest touch.

"I love you astrid" he says

"...hiccup" I start but he interrupts me with a kiss.

I'm stunned, but kiss back.

he breaks it and smiles at me.

I smile back, but then look confused when his eyes widen.

the next thing I know a hand goes over my mouth and pulls me back into the shadows.

I try to scream for help but everything went black.

the last thing I heard was the fading sound of hiccup calling my name.
