AN: Right, so I started writing this years ago. I then lost the password to this account and have just found it. I hate this work but might try to edit it until it resembles... something.
I have always hated mirrors.
I can't change in front of one or spend long amounts of time with one in the room. I won't carry one around with me. There wasn't one in my room or in the bathroom at my insistence. So when this morning I wanted to check my appearance, I had to use the full length mirror in my parents room. That'sUgh. I rip the page out in disgust. I can't start a diary entry like that. For my birthday, my parents had given me a diary. It had sat on my shelf for almost three months until my brother Matt had noticed it was there and persuaded me to write in it. So I tried.
I really, really did. The words just wouldn't come out right. It always sounded too formal or like I was writing an old fashioned novel about ghosts.
I sighed and rolled off my bed, smoothing out my school uniform. I checked my alarm clock which read 8:32 and promptly dashed into the bathroom to brush my teeth. I then sprinted to my parents' room to check my appearance.
(As, even if they do sound bad, the diary entries are completely truthful, 'cause that's what diaries are for right?)
I look presentable. Okay, I'm underselling myself a bit here. I'm actually quite good looking, I'm well proportioned, with a slim waist but thighs that won't slim down no matter what I do. My appearance is controversial though, with my jet black hair and ice blue eyes, I look nothing like my brown haired, amber eyed parents and brother.
I have confronted my parents more than once, asking if I was adopted. The answer was always the same, sharp "No" and I would've believed them if not for the shifty looks that crossed their faces every time the subject was brought up.
I'm still curious but I figured I'd rather not spoil the well crafted life I currently enjoy / endure.
"Yaz!" Matt's voice broke through my confused thoughts. Matt is tall and athletic his honey coloured skin, dark brown hair- flecked with bronze and amber eyes cause many to fall at his feet.
He was nearly two years older than me however we were only one school year apart. He was captain for the school's rugby and swimming teams and so was one of the most sought after guys in the school.
"Yaz! We're going to be late!" I started and ran out of my parents' room and returned to my own. The clock read 8:43.
I shrieked in suprise and terror. We were going to be late. We WE were going to be late. Yaz and Matt were late.
Oh no no no no. This was not happening. I joined Matt at the front door.
We shared a look and sprinted to school.
9 minutes later...
My best friend Lily and her brothers, the twins, Olly and James- Matt's friends- were waiting for us by the front gates.
Lily has amazing wavy, auburn hair that she recently cut shoulder length. It clashes beautifully with her green eyes and makes her tall body look slightly shorter which she appreciated a lot.
The twins were almost identical with their dark brown hair and athletic builds. They were tall and fit and shared a love of cross-country. The only noticeable difference were their eye colours. Olly had green eyes where as James had chocolate brown eyes.
"Where have you been? It's 8:55 already. We're so going to be late!" Lily shrieked hysterically.
I gave her a look at disbelief, grabbed her wrist and checked the time.
"No it's 8:52. It most definitely did not take me 12 minutes to run to school."
Olly and James started laughing with Matt soon joining in. Lily just stared at them in disbelief."What?" Olly asked, his green eyes sparkling with amusement, "Only Yaz could get so worked up as to how long it took her to get to school..."
The mirth quickly vanished from James's face "Guys. It's Zak."Zak was the oldest sibling of the family and had the same auburn hair as Lily but the same chocolate eyes as James. They were also a year older than the twins and Matt. He was very serious when it came to school and us all being late to class would not be good if he caught us.
I grabbed Matt and Lily, who were the closest to me and ran pulling them along with me.
When we reached mine and Lily's form room, the bell hadn't gone yet and we were still giggling somewhat profusely.
"Zak is going to murder us all later!" I gasped fighting for breath after the laughing fit.
"You?" Lily exclaimed trying to catch her own breath.
"No way"
"We'll be the ones they kill!"
"They like you far too much to tell you off!" The twins teased, not even sound out of breath.I glared at Olly, who just happened to be closer, needing to find some way to make my suffering worthwhile. "They'll blow up at us when we get home."
"And then when when Mum hears..."
"There'll be no end to the torment..."
"All because Yaz and Matt were nearly late for school"
"I can see it now"
"A gravestone, 'killed by disappointed mother due to friend's lateness'""Please don't do that!" Matt begged. "Do what?" The twins flashed wicked smiles at each other and I realised that that was what they'd hoped for. I laughed inwardly. Matt was going to suffer now. "What finish each others' sentences?"
"Or maybe he was referring to the..."The boys' bickering faded away as they headed towards their own classroom. One glance at each other was all it took for the laughter to happen. The bell suddenly rang meaning that Lily and I had only seconds to force ourselves to stop laughing before our form tutor had the chance to yell at us.

Well, there are some changes. Concrit is welcome but don't be too mean?
