"Hey, Lou, we need beer."
I sighed at the sound of Niall's voice. Niall has been my roommate since freshman year of Uni. Sure, he's a little messy. Well, very messy, but he's good company and a great friend.
Niall stood in the doorway to my bedroom, wearing only boxers and holding an xbox controller in one hand and a beer bottle in the other. His bleached blonde hair was brushed up into a quiff and his blue eyes were now surrounded red from the alcohol. I wouldn't say he was an alcoholic but he kind of was. I never comment on it though.
I finished the paragraph I was typing out for my essay and closed my laptop. I fished out my keys from my coat pocket and slipped on some vans before heading out the door after bidding a goodbye to my mate.
It was the first day back after winter break and I was now back in my Uni classes. Winter break was pretty uneventful. Niall went out to a party while I stayed in and watched reruns of my favorite shows on Netflix.
Harry and I had been texting each other frequently, as well. He was very busy with his tour and all but he still made time to text me, I have no idea why. We still haven't had coffee with each other like we said we were going to awhile back but I didn't mind. I could wait.
When I arrived at the store, I grabbed a six pack for Niall and a pack of cigarettes for myself. I picked up the habit recently, which I wasn't proud of. I headed to self checkout, scanning the two items and swiping my card to pay. I grabbed my bags and walked out of the store, climbing into my car and preparing to back out of my spot. Before I could, a black Range Rover came inches from colliding with my small BMW.
"What the fuck?" I muttered, trying to see who it was I almost collided with but the windows were so tinted that I couldn't see. "Fucking prick."
When the vehicle finally rolled away, I finished backing out and headed back to my apartment. As soon as I walked in, I wish I hadn't. Niall was dancing around the apartment in his boxers to 'Risky Business' while singing into a broom, sliding around the floor in his socks.
When he caught sight of me, he stopped immediately and ran over the hug me.
"Thank you, Louis! You're the best friend ever!" He exclaimed, grabbing the six pack and bolting to the kitchen while nearly slipping the whole way. This was a normal thing.
I headed to my bedroom, sitting at my desk once again and opening my laptop to finish my essay. I started typing out another paragraph when my phone suddenly lit up with a text message.
Harry: Hey, Louis. I'm in Doncaster at the moment and I was wondering if you'd like to have that coffee date?
-date ??
Harry: Well what else would it be?
I decided not to question it any longer. I was already giddy about the fact that we were seeing each other again.
