{Author's note: any song is fine for the prologue, but we suggest listening to Madness}

Abigail Kennedy tightened her seat belt as she prepared for takeoff. She had a fear of heights but she knew she must serve her nation as the President's protector. Plus, she needed this job.

"N657HJ ready for takeoff." Abigail's co-pilot, Anna Kensington, said through their mini-radio. Anna looked at Abigail and gave her a comforting smile.

"No worries Mariah, everything always goes fine during these stages of the flight."

Abigail nodded at her friend and looked back outside. She felt bad, bad for lying to her only true friend.

After just five minutes, the plane was already in the air, along with Abigail, Anna and ten others from the Secret Service. It had been a big deal to accept such a prestigious job offer, knowing Abigail's past in the army - but something didn't seem right.

Suspiciously, Anna kept looking at the radar; trying to detect any plane other than the US Air Force nearby. She succeeded and as everyone in the back was talking about their new jobs and how great recruitment had gone, Abigail couldn't help but notice a wing at the back of N657HJ. Their plane was the last in the formation of four that was surrounding the main plane - the President's plane.

"Anna, try detecting the aircraft behind us." As Anna tried looking through the window again, the plane had seemed to disappear in the clear blue.

"Mariah, you need to stop worrying. There is no other-" She had been cut off, by an alarm from the aircraft in front of them, N938JK, that had sent them a warning of another aircraft and suspicious activity.

"I just tilted the plane to look, it's all clear. Over to you." Anna had taken full control of the plane from the auto pilot, and tilted it to the right. but nothing was detected. Still though, Abigail couldn't help but notice weird sounds from the engine. Something that N938JK truly hadn't even noticed, but the Presidential planes kept going.

The plane had suddenly drifted left, and everyone on board was questioning it.

"What just happened Anna?" Shouted another Secret Service recruit.

Which was followed by, "Anna, look out!".

The girls' plane was being ambushed, and the others in the formation didn't seem to notice. While gas was fuming from the aircraft's engine, Abigail couldn't help but think about her baby girl - Madelyn Kennedy. The only living family, and about to be the last. Anna tried to reach her, but all Abigail could hear was her baby's screams knowing that her mother had vanished in the clear.

"Mariah, hold on!" Anna had screamed across the plane, as she took a drift to the right. She thought this could prevent the aircraft behind them from firing any more bullets.

"You need to reach for the radio-" Another Secret Service agent had told Abigail, just as their pilot's controls lit up. They hadn't realised it; their whole plane was on fire. Their left wing, their engine and their cockpit - all burning, together with their radio.

Abigail forcefully took Anna by her hand and dragged her out of the cockpit, taking her to the middle of the plane. They weren't flying across water, but land; Their emergency exits were nothing but failures at this point.

Along with their co-workers, the two ladies had accepted their fate. No other plane knew about this. Why would've it mattered to the President anyways? Just the last plane of the formation, there to protect him, full of nothing but recruits and trainees of the Secret Service. But it had mattered to them.

And Abigail knew who did this. She just knew.
