Chapter 4

   "It's been intresting having such a unique case," Dr. Kenneth was obviously disappointed that i was leaving so soon, "I wish you could stay longer for more study but there is simply nothing wrong." He scratches his chin with a quizzical face.

"Yeah i cant say im a big fan of hospital food." I laugh. I was more than happy to be leaving the stuffy room after staying for only a few days. My hair was now completely white and i had already gotten my fair share of stares.

He chuckles, "You know where to find me if you need anything." His face turns serious, "And i do mean anything." I saw his eyes wander to the fading bruises covering my arms. I rub my wrist uncomfortably.

"I'll remember that." His eyes return to mine and he smiles.

"Goodbye Olaf." I smile back. "So long Doc."

I turn away from the hospital doors and make my way to my moms red jeep, where she stood waiting.

"Are you ready honey?" She smiles warmly and opens my door for me. I nod sliding into the leather seat.

"And hey!" The doctor calls out, "don't forget about monthly checkups!" My mom waves at him in acknowledgment and hurrys to the drivers seat.

I take one last look at the pristine building and turn towards the road ahead.

"You know i think your hair is adorable." My mom glances at me while we drive and i cant help but grin.

"Thanks mum." I see her smirk at the extra accent i use. You could say i agree with her though. The snowy color goes surprisingly well with my blue eyes. With the attention being drawn from my hair it causes my eyes to be even more striking than before.

"I don't believe you've forgotten but your big move is today." I cant hide my excitement and she sighs rolling her eyes. "That excited to get away from your old mama bear?" She teases and i roll my eyes with a laugh.

"Maybe i am." She slaps my shoulder and huffs making my grin widen.

We pull into the drive way and im not surprised to see my fathers car missing. Around this hour he's usually out with his drinking buddys, or "working overtime" with his pretty secretary.

"I'll wait here while you get your stuff." My mom sits back in her seat. I nod and hop out of the car, practically skipping to the door.

Having already packed most of my things, i gather up the few boxes and other things before hurrying back to the car. I find the trunk already open and shove all of my stuff into the back. I make sure its perfectly neat (note the sarcasm) before closing the door and jumping back into the front.

I cant keep the smile from my face. My mom sighs and cups my face in her hands turning me towards her. Her eyes are watering and she has a small smile.

"My last baby is all grown up!" She sniffles and plants a wet lipstick packed kiss onto both of my cheeks. She pulls back and gives me a once over. "I did a really good job." I laugh and puts her hands back on the steering wheel.

The rest of our ride is filled with horrible singing and loud radio music. I can tell my mom is proud as she pulls up to my new dorm. Its a tall building with grey brick and big windows.

My mom helps me with my boxes and we make our way to the second floor. Besides a few jabs at my moms short figure and non-existant muscle the trip is quite and comfortable.

"Are sure you dont need any help with unpacking?" I shake my head when we have all of the boxes into the room.

She smiles and wipes her eyes with a sniff. "Bye baby I love you!" I lean down a bit to give a her a tight hug. "I love you too mom." She pulls away still smiling before leaving, pulling the wood door closed behind her.

I let out a deep breath and wipe my forehead. Everything was going to be great now.

A/N: Ok i know that wasnt much and nothing very interesting happened but the next chapter will be here before you know it and we'll get to see the cute little Latino again. It took a bit long to post this chapter but you know life happened soooo. K bye. 👋
