I awoke with a start, with the name Austin and his face permanently engrained in my brain. The dream was so vivid that I half expected to wake up wrapped in wings, or at the least to find red feathers in my bed. I had had the dream twice before each more vivid than the last. I laid back and replayed it in my head before looking at the clock to see what time it was. The clock read five, five in the damn morning and I had to be up by eight to get ready for a meeting. Knowing I wasn't going to back to sleep anytime soon, I huffed and tossed the blankets back. I decided maybe a cup of tea would help so I made my way to the kitchen.
I was careful to be quiet if I woke Alex Jack would not be pleased with me to say the least. I filled the kettle, placed it on the burner and turned the stove on to heat the water and as I went through the motions of preparing the tea my mind was on the dream the whole time. I was so distracted that I didn't even realize that I wasn't alone.
"B?"
"aah!" My hand flew to my chest and I spun around to find Jack sitting on a bar stool drinking a glass of orange juice, "The fuck Jack!"
"I woke up with a craving for orange juice." He stated with a shrug.
"Fair." I nodded.
"Why are you up?" He questioned.
"I had the dream again." I explained, "This time I expected to wake up with wings."
"Do you really believe in Angels and Cupids?"
"Of course I do," I shrugged, "Why do you think Alex fell in love with your skinny dumb dick joke making ass?"
"I don't know the grace of god?" He questioned with a shrug.
"Exactly Angels and Cupids." I stated, "I got the cupids name this time, and his face."
"Okay I'll bite," he put his orange juiced down, and leaned on his elbows, "What's his name? What does he look like?"
"Austin,"
The kettle whistled at that moment, I finished my tea and sweetened it with a little sugar before taking a seat in front of Jack a the bar.
"And he's I'd say six foot three or four, sleeved out arm tattoos, brown eyes, and a nose ring." I explained every detail, "he's gorgeous."
"He's figment of your imagination." Jack pointed out.
"You don't know that." I argued.
