Chapter 12

Hailee's POV.

Dear Ivy

I grew some balls and emailed Shawn which led us to our first date. The date wasn't bad but it was not what I had imagined. I had told him no eating but then I thought we would just go for a walk or something, maybe go to a museum who knew? But nope, Shawn really did surprise me. First I was scared. I waited for him on the corner like I said I would, but I had this nagging feeling that somebody was staring at me and I didn't like it. I didn't get the chance to think about it before Shawn showed up, it was probably nothing in the end. But then Shawn wanted to take me on a train, I didn't knew where we were going or when we would be back. I thought I was getting better, my therapist kept saying that I had come so far but still -My whole body stiffened when Shawn wouldn't tell me. I even stomped my foot like a child . But Shawn asked me to trust him, I did feel comfortable with him but could I trust him? I didn't but I went with him anyway. I needed to pull it together, of course would he not kidnap me. Shawn wasn't him I just needed to remind myself of that.

So we went on the train, we talked and joked with each other. I told him a little bit about my life back home and so did he. When it was about time to get off did he grab my hand and lead me on the way to our destination. Apparently his big surprise was laser tag. I haven't tried it before but he said he was inspired by the show How I Met Your Mother. It was certainly a surprise and it was fun. We fought against each other, and to be honest -I didn't care about shooting the others I just wanted to hit him. We laughed and at some point he even snuck up on me, I screamed so loud before I recognized him. Shawn just bent down in laughter trying to contain himself. My face was red as an tomato and in revenge did I shoot him with a smirk on my face.

When the next round began did I look out for Shawn. He had whispered right before we was suppose to go to our own side that he was going directly after me. When he had whispered it did I feel a tremble down my spine from his words but not because I was scared, but because I liked having him so close. So when I didn't see him anywhere for some time did I begin to relax. He would never find me here, this hiding spot had I eyed the moment we got in here and decided I wouldn't use it before I thought it was necessary, and it was now.

I looked through one of the small holes there was so I could see the "field" and none of my teammates was there. I looked confused and tried to figure out what had happened. I couldn't see any one from the other team either. Was the round over? I got out from my hiding spot to look around when suddenly somebody crashed into me. It didn't hurt so much when we landed because I landed on him. His exact words when I looked schooled down at him was "gotcha" while he was smiling big. I couldn't move in bare shock, my heartbeat was fast and I was panting. What the hell? I wasn't panting in fear, I was panting because I was nervous. Shawn's smile faded away slowly when I didn't move away from him. His eyes was moving down to my slight parted lips -my eyes was still wide in shock from the fall but also from my unexpected reaction. One of his hands was on my hip and the other was moving upward to my neck. His mouth came close to mine and right before our lips touched did I snap out of it. I had never moved so fast before, but before I knew of it was I trying to stand up but failed miserably.
