'Harry,

Im not exactly sure how this whole 'pen pal' thing works. I wish someone would have explained to be basically what I'm supposed to talk to you about here. My therapist didn't tell me much, just that I needed to talk to someone with the same problems as me, someone who understands what im going through. So I guess thats you.

I would tell you about myself, but I'm not exactly sure who you even are, other than the fact that your name is Harry. I wouldn't know what to say, anyways. But I can tell you this much:

My name is Louis Tomlinson. I am 19 years old and I live in Doncaster.'

I tapped my pencil on the paper, only half of it was covered in my sloppy handwriting.

'I'm sorry, Harry. I don't really know what to say here. I've never had a pen pal before. Maybe I'll have much more to say next time. I guess I hope to get a letter back from you soon. I look forward to... writing with you.

Sincerely,

Louis x.'

I let out a sigh and set the pencil down on the paper. Just then, I heard a knock at the door.

"Louis, dear? Are you finished with your paper?" It was my therapist, Theresa. Theresa was about as good as they get, therapist wise. She was nice, patient, and understanding. I thought of her more as a friend rather than someone who works in a place that I absolutely dread going to once a week.

"Yeah, come in." I said, taking the paper off the clipboard.

The door opened and closed in a swift moment, her heels clicked on the hardwood floor until she reached her desk. "Can I see the paper?" I nodded and handed it to her. Her eyes scanned it over and she smiled. "That'll do for now. You know, Harry used to be my patient before he moved to Cheshire. Good lad, you two are very much alike, which is mainly why I signed you two up together. I'm sure you two will get along very well." She gave me a warm smile before standing up and folding the letter in half. "You should have your letter from Harry by next week, I can have them sent to your house, if you'd like?"

I didn't say anything, just kept my eyes on the ground.

"Why can't we just text? Why do we have to go through the struggle of writing letters to each other?"

She didn't answer me. She just gave me another smile and sat at her desk. "I'll see you next Thursday." That was my cue to finally leave. I jumped up from the chair and grabbed my bag that I brought along with me.

"Oh, and Louis," I let out a sigh and placed my hand on the doorknob, waiting for her continue. "Have a good start to your summer,"

"Thank you," I mumbled out before sliding out of the room and outside.

When I got arrived home, it was silent, indicating that mo one was home.

Thank God.

Living in a house with your mom and four younger sisters, being the only boy can get annoying at times. But now, I finally have some quiet time. I threw my bag down on the floor and hopped up the stairs, heading into my room and pulling out my phone.

To: Mum

'Where are you? xx.'

I threw my phone down on my bed and changed out of my black jeans and into some sweat pants. I climbed into bed and heard my phone buzz.

From: Mum

'I took your sisters to the store with me. We should be home soon, we will be home soon enough. xx'

I rolled my eyes at her response, deciding not to reply. I threw my phone to the other side of the bed and pulled the covers up to my chin, hoping to find some sleep before they get back.

But sleep doesn't always come easy to me.
