CHAPTER 1: THE PROBLEM

"Riley! Come on we have to go, where's Mello?" (ShadowDei:Any death note fans, no it is not our Mello I just used his name cuz I like it.) A women with dark brown hair asked her son. "Like I care," Riley said, his brown hair blowing in the wind. "Does he have to come!" Riley whined to his mother. "Riley, look, I know Mello's problems are hard for you to deal with, there hard for all of us to deal with. But he has to come, we cant just leave him here by himself." His mother replied. "Yes we can." He mumbled. "Just go get your brother please." She sighed. The family was leaving for a summer vacation along with one of Riley's friends and was now packing up the car and getting ready to go get Riley's friend. Riley walked from the car where his mother was up to the house. There house was a two-story modern house. Riley sighed as he opened the front door and stepped inside. He walked over to a staircase and yelled from the bottom, "Mello get your a$$ down here!" No response. Riley groaned and walked up the stair case, down a long hall to the right and stopped at the last door, he knocked on the door and said, "Mello let's go!" The door opened and out stepped a short, skinny, boy, dressed in black from head to toe. "Come on emo let's go." Riley taunted. Mello nodded causing his jet black hair to fall in his face. His bangs covered his eyes anyways so he was used to it. Mello followed his older brother quietly down the stairs and out to the car where there mother and father where waiting in the car. Riley opened the door on one side and Mello did the same on the other. There father started driving away from the house Mello looked out the window spacing out when his mother's voice snapped him out of it. "Mello we need to have a chat before we get Riley's friend Kay." Mello nodded not looking at his mother. "Look at me." She demanded. He turned his head slightly in her direction. "Mello please at least try and be social, I know you don't like to be but. Try?" "And talk more." His brother interrupted. "I will try mom." He said. Mello didn't have a loud voice, unlike his brother, Mello was very soft spoken. "That's all I ask." She replied smiling at her son. A few moments later they arrived at Kay's house. Riley got out of the car along with there father and mother. "Mello get out of the car." His mother said. "Why? He's not my friend." Mello said. "Be nice." She sneered back. He nodded and his mother left the car to go get Kay along with there father and Riley. After what seemed like hours to Mello, but was really a matter of minuets, his parents, brother and his brother's friend came back to the car. His parents got in the two front seats, his father driving and his mom roding shotgun. His brother, Kay, and Mello sat in the back seat. "Kay this is Riley's brother Mello." His mother introduced him to Kay. "Hello." Kay said looking at Mello. "Hi." Was all Mello said still looking out the car window. "He doesn't talk much." Riley said. "How come I've been over your house so many times but I've never met your brother?" Kay asked a little surprised. "Because he's an antisocial emo freak." Riley whispered so his mother wouldn't hear him.

Mello's POV: I can not believe this! We are driving all the way from Massachusetts to California! That's about two or three days worth of time! This is so stupid, I'd rather be at home, in my dark room, away from people, away from the pressure of...of just life. And even worse I have to share a room with my brother and Kay at every hotel we stay at. After awhile of listening to Riley and Kay talking like two girls, I just fell asleep.

Mello's dream~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I sit locked in a room tied to a chair with my head down looking at the floor with my hands and feet tied as well. I sit in silence and wonder to my self, 'Where am I?' I was snapped out of my thought by the sound of the door to the room opening and closing. "Aren't you a quiet one." A sinister voice said from behind me. I froze, I didn't want to turn my head, I didn't move a muscle. The man then walked around to the front and got down to my level. "Quiet and cute... let's see how far you'll let me go before you open that mouth of yours." I tilted my head in confusion. "Hehehe, you are to cute kid." He said tracing my jaw line. "How far will you let me go?" He asked. Before I could answer his lips were on my own. My eyes widened in shock as his tongue entered my mouth. After awhile of this he pulled back. "You gunna talk." I shook my head no and the man smirked. The he proceeded to kiss my neck up and down, shivers went down my spine. "Talk." He whispered in my ear. I wanted to but for some reason I didn't. "Fine then." Then he moved down and put his hand right above my pants."Talk." He taunted. I tried but no words came out then-

"AHHH!" I screamed waking up. "Mello what's wrong?!" My mother asked. "Leave me alone!" I said. "Mello?" My father questioned. My bother reached over and grabbed my arm, "Mells it's ok." "No! Don't touch me!" I knew what was happening, I was having a panic attack, but my medication was at home, about four hours away. "Stop the car!" My mother said. My dad pulled over and everyone got out of the car but me. I sat curled up on the back seat rocking back and forth scared to death. "What's wrong with him?" Kay asked. "He's having a panic attack, mom where is his medication?" Riley asked. "At home I forgot it, I didn't think he'd need them." She replied honestly. "What will he do?" Kay asked. "Don't touch him, let him freak out and then he will pass out from exhaustion." My father said. I sat in the car hyperventilating, and freaking out. My dream triggered his, my dreams always trigger this. On top of my social anxiety, depression, and weird a$$ dreams, I get sever panic attacks, and sometimes I even scare myself. I cries for about 20 minuets and calmed down. 10 minuets later we were back on the road and the voice in my head came back... I hate that voice.

I wonder what Kay must think of you after that episode. As if he didn't think you were weird already. shut up Why? It's the truth, can't handle the truth Melly? Don't call me that. Why? My brother called me that before... before what? Before you went crazy?! I am not crazy. Whatever Any ways why do I care what Kay thinks? Because if he tells people at school about your problems then you will be even more of an outcast then you already are! Shut up!

"Mello are you ok?" My dad asked me. "Yeah fine." I replied. "The hotel should be coming up any minuet now." Mom said. The two idiots cheered while I just grunted in response. I can't wait until we arrive at the hotel, I can go online with my laptop and not worry about what Riley and Kay are doing. My mom says, 'be social' I say 'I will online.' I have my friend Vic online. I met him online via some video game that neither of us play anymore two years ago. He lives in California so I can't wait to tell him that, that is where I'm going! Then dad pulled the car into a hotel and we all got out of the car. "Ok Dad is getting the room keys so let's get our suitcases." Mom then opened the trunk of the car and grabbed suitcases. "Mello, your lap top." My mother said handing me the lap top, I grabbed my laptop and put the bag it was in over my shoulder, and grabbed my suitcase. After mom got all the suitcases out of the car dad gave me the key to our room. Our parents had the room right next to ours. The three of us went up to the third floor and went into our room. The room was big for a hotel room, with light brown walls, and red carpeting. I took the bed to the right and got out my laptop, ignoring my brothers 'antisocial' comment. I got connected to the hotel WI-FI, plugged my head phones and went on video call to talk to Vic. Riley and Kay went off to explore the grounds so I didn't have to worry about them. I video called Vic and he excepted. "Hey Vi." I waved. "Hey, where are you, you're not in you're room?" He asked. Vic was amazing. He had black messy hair with bangs like mine that covered his chocolate brown eyes. "I'm in a hotel somewhere in Ohio at the moment." "Where you headed?" "California, near you." "Do you wanna meet up?" "No duh?" He laughed. "Where are you going to be in California?" "L.A." "I live in L.A. I'll meet up with you in Hollywood." I smiled. "Ok." "Are you ok Mel?" Damn it! He can always tell. "Don't lie to me either Mel." "I had an attack today." "What was the dream?" He asked concern. I can always go to Vic, he always knows what's wrong and what always triggers my attacks. "I was tied up and this guy was..." I shivered and started crying. "Hey, hey, hey, stop it, shhh, shhh, it's ok, it's ok." Vic's voice was comforting to me. His voice was soft and caring. "He was touching me." I cried harder. "Shhh, it's ok Mello, it was just a dream." He comforted me "It felt real." I whimpered. "Mel it is ok, I wont let that happen." Vic said. I smiled as wiped away my tears. "Mello you aren't crazy," He said suddenly, "So stop thinking you are." "How did you-" "I'm telepathic." He said. "How come you never told me before?" "You never asked." "Fair enough." I shrugged. Then I heard Riley and Kay coming towards the room. "I have to go bye Vi." "Wait Mel." "What?" "I have something to tell you went you get here." "Why can't you tell me now?" "Because it needs to be said in person." I nodded. "Bye Vic." I waved. "Bye." He waved back and I X-ed out of the video chat.
