This is a Kousei x Tsubaki ship. This is more of a what if Kousei realized he loved Tsubaki earlier. (I believe that later on he did realize that he loves her, there are things that point to that in Kaori's letter but that is not the point of this story!)
As mentioned it takes place right before her confession. This is a first person story from the point of view of Tsubaki. The story doesn't really change until about half way through but I do explore how Tsubaki feels in this moment as to add more of an impact for when she actually confesses her feelings.
