Confused on why luke stood up for me back there.

Thinking of him liking me makes me so happy but it could never happen I get made fun of so much by everyone.
Mostly from luke.
Yeah even if he said he liked me I bet it wouldn't be real because it's probebly for a bet.
And it wouldn't work out because he would be scared to tell people because he would lose his popularity.
"He loser" I heard Michael shout from across the hall.
That got everyone's attention.
I was ignoring him until Harry called out
"We'll ya being scared? answer him!"
"Yes?" I answered with a cracky voice because I was terrified of what could happen.
From that he punched me.
"Oww!!!" I yelped out in pain.
"That's what you get for not giving luke the answers to the Spanish test."
At least he didn't say that I like bradyn
Then luke buts in,
"HEY EVERYONE! GUESS WHO tHE NERD LIKES?"
Oh god bradyn just walked out to his locker which was next to mine.

"I ...uhh.... I done...." I stuttered
"It's ok of you do because now would be the time to say I don't like you."he told me
A wave of relief rolled off of my back
"THANK GOD!" I said a little to loudly
Everyone looked at me like I was crazy
But between me and you,
