Y/n monitered Thomas' face for a reaction but there was none. He simply looked at her dead in the eye and turned and looked far off in the distance. She couldn't grasp what exactly this reaction meant but like anyone she expected the worst. Why would she say that? Now she's destroyed their friendship? How could she hang out with anyone in their group again? These poisonous thoughts slid through her mind and forced a silent tear out of her eye, then another one out of her other eye. She didn't bother hiding it. Thomas turned his head back to face her and took a breath. ''Y/n'' he spoke in his gentle voice, ''Please don't cry.'' Y/n stayed silent and studied Thomas' face. Then Thomas spoke again, ''Thank you for telling me, it all makes sense now.'' He paused and let out another sigh, ''But don't think that cos of this all your gonna lose me, no bloody way am i losing you''. His words soothed y/n's soul and she could feel herself letting go of the worry of losing her bestfriend forever. He looked deeply into her eyes, and he leaned in closer, brushing away the tears on her delicate face with his thumb. Y/n couldn't help but register how close he was, she stared intently at his soft, pale lips and then back up at his eyes. ''Please don't tell Hazel'' was all y/n could get out in a croaky voice. Thomas didn't respond, all he did was smirk his signiture smirk, and in his eyes she could see fire, fuelled by want and a hint of building regret as his lips pressed against y/n's - sending shivers racing all through her body. They dissolved as he pulled away suddenly and she could see the distress in his eyes. ''Oh god, oh god, oh bloody hell'' he spat, ''I shouldn't have done that, i'm with Hazel, what am I gonna tell Hazel?!!''. Thomas shook his head, looking at the ground and closed the car door, walking round to the drivers side. He got in and slammed his door shut. Y/n felt so horrible and the guilt began to set in. And that must have only been half of what Thomas was feeling right now. She expected him to rev the car to life and bolt out of the parking lot. But no. He sat there. His fingers tapping the steering wheel, his mind deep in thought.

Y/n opened her mouth but shut it again believing that if she was to say anything it would probably just make it worse. So she sat there in silence for a few minutes before the uncomfortable void that had set in was disturbed by Thomas. ''It's not you y/n thats the problem with this. It's the fact that that kiss wasn't a mistake. I've been bloody well wanting to do that for a very long while now...'' He paused letting the words set in. Y/n didn't know whether to feel happy or relieved at his statement, or to feel even worse for Hazel's sake. ''I mean i really like Hazel but couldn't help but feel real love towards you,'' he paused again, ''You aren' t the only one real good at hiding your true feeling's you know'' Y/n was suprised and thought that maybe she was dreaming. ''S-so what are we gonna do now then?'' The only thing she could think of responding with. Thomas looked at her, locking their eyes which released a flock of butterflies inside her stomach. ''Well the only thing i can think of doing.. Telling Hazel what just happened.''  Y/n's stomach collapsed in on itself. Her breathing intensified and she feared she might faint again. At least they were still right by the hospital. Thomas noticed the look on her face and quickly cleared it up, ''Don't worry y/n, i will be telling her that I kissed you as that is what happened no doubt and that i can't help my feeling's toward you. It's up to you whether you confess your true feelings to her and we will go from there, is that okay??'' You placed your hand on his and squeezed, he squeezed back. ''Yeah, Tom that's fine, let's go then. But i am not gonna lie, im pretty nervous. I don't think she will react all that well..''
