The car screeched to a hault and in the silence the rain fiercefully pounded down onto the car as dark clouds swarmed the sky. It was as if the weather represented y/n's and Thomas' feeling's. ''Well, lets go then y/n'' Y/n didn't move. Instead she just stared out of the car window and watched the rain as it fell to the ground forming a puddle. She caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror and immediately felt guilt override her system again. She knew that she can't control her feelings and there's nothing more in the world she wants then for them to be together, but she just wishes she didn't have to go through the stage of telling Hazel and watching her best friend drown in the news. Not gonna lie though, part of her was ecstatic at the fact Thomas feels the same way, however most of her was consumed by nervousness and guilt for now. Her thinking time was broken off by Thomas' sweet voice, ''You have been off daydreaming a lot, you know'' Y/n's heart squeezed with joy and love by just looking at Thomas and wanted nothing more but to kiss him. However, she was pulled back into the present when she saw Hazel open the front door and gesture for them both to come in.

Thomas and y/n reached the porch and Hazel was already waiting back in the house. The rain was cold against their skin and when they reached the door she felt Thomas' hand brush against hers sending a fresh wave of tingles spreading within her body. She must've made a sound as she could see Thomas smirking beside her. Oh how she loved that smirk. They both made their way into the living room and sat beside Hazel on the leather sofa's. The room was relatively large with many pieces of furniture framing it and pictures of nature hanging on the walls. A few lamps lit up the room casting shadows across the light magnolia walls. Y/n and Thomas sat upright and Hazel - who had no idea what was coming her way - sat slouched with her right leg across her left looking at us impatiently.

When no one said a word, she kept switching her brunette head back and forth between us, eventually speaking, ''Well then, this was your idea Thomas, so come on speak up babe''. Thomas' body shivered when hearing the last word and began, ''Hazel, something happened earlier that i cannot begin to explain how sorry i am, but you need to understand even though i am sorry, it was not a mistake...'' His voice caught on the last few words as if straining to carry on, but before he could the impatient Hazel spoke up again, ''All well and good telling me that, but then what exactly was this thing that happened??'' Her voice was laced with impatience and she looked towards y/n waiting for an answer from either of them. The room fell silent for another few seconds and car lights passed the window. Y/n looked to the floor, and could feel Thomas' eyes on her. He turned back to Hazel and got straight to the point, ''Look, it wasn't y/n's fault but, well, we kissed...'' The room was then silent again; Thomas continued, ''I kissed her and trust me guilt took its hold on me right then and there but at that moment Hazel, im sorry to say this, but i realised i love y/n'' He paused as if this was a suprise to him, he stood up, ''I love y/n''. Y/n moved her head up looking at Hazel. Hazel's face was filled with betrayal, jealousy and mainly sadness, but that quickly washed away and turned into more of a understanding look. Hazel then spoke, ''I don't judge you Thomas, not gonna lie I am really upset at this but i am not mad'' she looked at y/n, ''i am not mad at either of you.'' Thomas' eyebrows creased and his right eyelid twitched, ''Really? I thought that you would be bloody heartbroken'' his voice had a hint of humour within. Hazel responded by giving him a quick hug and saying, ''Yeah, well, i am but i have noticed us getting less and less...'' She paused searching for the right word, ''...lovey'' She giggled a bit at her choice of vocab and then all of them did. She continued after, ''I sort of prepared myself for something along the lines of a break up coming and decided no matter what i still wanna be good friends with you Thomas, i guess we aren't compatable for a relationship. And y/n in other circumstances the person in my position would most likely be hating on you right now, but your still my best friend and if you love Thomas like he says he loves you, then i'm not stopping you.'' Her face filled with compassion and a hint of sadness. Y/n finally spoke after staying silent for so long, ''Well i guess that's the hard part all over then, i am still sorry though Hazel''. Hazel smiled accepting the apology and it was Thomas' time to join in the conversation, ''Thanks Hazel for taking this so well, i just want you too know that only up until a little while ago, i really did love you, your a great girl and im glad we are still friends'' After a few more minutes Thomas and y/n got up, said their goodbye's and left. Hazel closed the door behind them and glad to finally be alone, sunk down against the door and let tears flow down her face. However, after, Hazel decided to move on from being sad for both her friends and be happy.
