It is Star and Shadow's first year in their new high school, as they make new friends and relationships, working their way slowly to prepare for the school dance. This story is the origins of how Star and Leo met so after this story they have lots...
(quick disclaimer that I didn't draw the mermaid art in this.)
Star: uh...oh, hello, Sky! (tries to make it seem like she's happy to see him but is really worrying about what might happen if Leo comes searching for her)
Sky: (begins eating) Are you feeling alright, Star? you....uh.....look a little sweaty!
Star: (wipes the sweat from her fore head) umm.....yep!! i'm fine, completely fine.....(looks back at her lunch tray)
Sky: (gives her a suspicious look) hmm...you look like you have something on your mind. Care to spill the beans?
Star: n-no!! i have.....nothing on my mind...it's all fine, really!!!......(pokes her food with her fork)
Sky: eh. fair enough, i guess. (puts another fork full of ramen into his mouth) anyway, my big brother said that you had a great talent for singing!
Star: huh?! Is your big brother in my class? (starts eating her food)
Sky: yep, i think so. he said that your voice is....'like an angels'......(scoffs)......
Star: wow, whoever your brother is, he sure sounds like a nice person!
Sky: heh.....i guess......although since he's in your class, i'm a little jealous that he gets the chance to see you every day........i think he likes you, ya know. (prods his food with his fork)
Star: (flips out) H-HUH?!......a person actually likes me, even though it's only the third day, huh......how is that even possible? after all, i thought i'd never have someone likeme since i pretty much just label myself as the weirdest person i know.....
Sky: (scoffs) whatever!!....y-you're beautifu---I....UH.....SAID THAT........AHH NEVER MIND!! (looks back at his food embarrased)
Star: aww....if you...meant to say that i'm beautiful, then...thanks! i'll take that as a compliment! (continues eating her lunch)
Sky: (smiles, blushing. sooner or later they both finish their lunches until star decides she needs to leave.)
Star: (stands up with her empty lunch tray and pretends to have a surprised expression on her face) o-oh! well, would ya look at that, i have to go and get to my.....enrichment!....that i...have on this lunch time......
Sky: (sees her shuffling away from the table, seeming eager to leave.) huh? oh, i thought you said you were free this lunch....but, that's completely fine!.....i'll......just continue writing a story of mine for the rest of lunch..(reaches into his bag which is under the table and pulls out a lined notebook.)
Star: well....uh....yeah! you have fun with that!....(runs out of the cafeteria) bye!
Sky: (waves pointlessly as she runs out of the cafeteria)....bye...
~ MEANWHILE ~
(Star runs up to the English department where she agreed to meet Leo. After a while of searching around She is very worried as she is unable to find him around the area, but sooner or later she ends up searching nearly the entire academy to find him by the underwater section of the school.
Star walks in through the door way of the underwater room and sees him looking down into the huge swimming pool which had a great depth. She wondered why a werewolf like him was here at such a quiet lunchtime like this, so she went and sat down next to him, silently.
She looked down into the pool to find lots of mermaids, mermen, octopus students, shark students and other types of underwater animals combined with humans. Leo seemed to be looking down in the pool at a young, blue haired mermaid with an ocean blue tail. most of the mermaid's features were blue, also including her eyes. )
Leo: (is still looking into the pool)...heh...i see you finally turned up?
Star: what do you mean 'turned up'? i agreed to meet you in the English department! not here!.....(looks back into the pool at the mermaid he's looking at)
Leo: but you never showed up, so i just came here like i do some lunch times.
Star: why? (looks confused)
Leo: (pulls out his art book from his bag and opens it to a page where he has a drawing of a shark boy which was swimming around in the pool near them.) i sometimes just come here for drawing ideas. i've tried drawing land animals before but most times i like to try and step out of my comfort zone a bit. (grabs his pencil case from his bag and turns to the next page in his art book, beginning to sketch the mermaid he was looking at.)
Star: (sees him sketching a detailed drawing of the blue mermaid and watches in awe. This definitely wasn't how she imagined how they'd end up spending their lunchtime, but in a way, it was really interesting. She had never visited the underwater section before, so for her it was a first.)
(Leo eventually finished the sketch of the mermaid, and coloured it in. when he had finished, he looked over at Star, who had her eyes gazing at the drawing in wonder. Since she had such an interest in that particular drawing, he ripped it off the spine of his art book and handed it over to her.)

star: (takes the drawing politely) f-for....me....?
Leo: yeah! (smiles) who else would it be for?
star: (stares at in in awe) thanks......so much!!!
Leo: heh. (blushes) m-my....my pleasure!!
( The two of them packed up their school bags and left the area. once the bell had rang, they headed on for their next two lessons.)
