Enemy's Daughter
Chapter 1
Brain Storm

For the past ten years the Silver Crescent and Moon Stone packs have been at war, each sending wave after wave of pack fighters into battle. The cause of the war? Land. Both the packs need more land and space to comfortably fit pack members and their necessities. However, these two neighbors both needed it.

The two packs were just a few of the larges packs there was, each pack running numbers up into the 400's and with so little space on each territory the only place to go was the 50 acre strip of land separating the two packs.

Both alphas met to come to an agreement but nothing would move either side. They refused to split it up in half each thinking they needed more than just the 25 acres. Dane Silver and Roe Stone never had got along and this was the breaking point of any agreement they had previously.

Finally after days of arguing and fighting between the two alphas they decided the only way to decide this was to give the land to the stronger pack, and the only way to do that was to fight each other. A war.

The winner would receive the land they needed. However as the war raged on for those ten years both packs had came to a dilemma, both were running out of warriors to fight. After years of sending mean and women alike into battle their numbers have steadily decreased. Now their numbers only average into the 250's and that's even including a steady birthrate at 50 children per year.

Shane Silver came to this realization when he turned just 18 years old. The eldest son of Dane Silver the alpha of Silver Crescent. He had served four years as a pack fighter because of his wits and brawn.

Usually you were only allowed to enter battle if you were 18 but as he was the alpha's son he was an exception and was allowed to serve at 16. He was pulled from public school but tutored and home schooled when he wasn't in battle.

After four years of serving he was pulled from battle field at the age of 20 to uphold the council's expectations to find a Luna for the next generation. Within the next year he has to find a woman to marry to take over the position of alpha from his father.

Many women loved his deep voice and at 6' 2" he was a real price to behold for any woman. Even when on the battle field he would receive letters from single women telling him how much they adored him and how they could make him happy. Some didn't leave anything to the imagination and wrote everything they would do to him.

Shane on the other hand had his own expectations and council or not he was refusing to settle for anything less than his expectaions on what a Luna should be like. Although it seemed he hasn't been trying very hard with only going on one date per year and still single.

Shane growled as he sat in front of his fathers desk. "I'm sorry son, but you have to find a woman to marry with THIS year, if you don't I have no choice but to pass the position to your sister because unlike you she thought ahead and found someone."

Shane rolled his eyes and leaned back. "The council of elders and their stupid laws, they should have changed it to make is so you're alpha first then you can find the one you want to make a Luna. It's a pain staking process father. If I am to become alpha I want a SMART girl who knows how a pack works and is not afraid to speak her mind. In case you have not noticed this is what this pack needs. If I just get with some bimbo then other packs will look down on us."

"Son, pack is not just about how other packs look at us it's-" Shane cut him short. "It's about our pack, their needs and what think is right for the pack, I know father but that is what I want for our pack. I will not accept anything less than that and if you put my sister in charge then this bloodline has stopped and her husbands will begin, I will also NOT accept that. If that does happen I will have no choice but to kill them both to get the position I deserve."
