"Y-You... You can't be serious."

I smile nervously, with a forced laugh making it's way out of my mouth.

"Well it's some weird humour but at least-"

"When do I joke about something like this Kace?!"

He yelled, his black framed glasses falling to his nose as his eyes filled to the brim with tears.

I guess he wasn't joking...

"Then c'mon, let's go."

I place my jacket upon my shoulders, wearing it as I run to the medical chambers, Ryan close behind. Once we reached, I open the doors gently.

"Kace...? Is that you? You don't come and visit me that often anymore, what have you been doing...?"

Her faint voice made me breathe out in relief.

She's not there, yet.

"Mother, oh thank glory..." Tears rolled down my cheeks as she frowns.

"Why are you crying? Where's Alana? I never see her anymore either."

Her skin was pale, wrinkled. She seemed on the brink of death as a healer færy stood beside me.

"Not long now. She's soon to go. Say your last wishes."

They walked away.

I was trembling.

I was crying.

"Mother... Alana was exiled remember?"

She looks in a questioning manner, eyes light blue from dementia.

"What for? She never did anything wrong..." She glanced forward sadly.

"Kace. Take care of your sister, okay? You too Ryan, she was..."

She stopped midsentence, voice even fainter than before.

"She was the one picked by the All-glory."

What?

"Why mother? And did the all-g-"

"They picked someone new now."

A cough, a splutter as I hold her hand tightly.

"Their name, it's..."

She had opened her mouth to speak, but no words came out.

A smile formed her lips as she closed her eyes.

Silence...

"Come Kace. We..."

Ryan turns away from me.

"We must inform the king."

I heard the sounds of his polished black shoes, tapping away as he walked. I just stood there, alone with mother.

"All-Glory, put her in the state of Nirvana, and let her soul flow through the heavens."
