This job is very hard to obtain, which is why not many people have this job. Deleteriours must find and stop all crime. It is up to them to decide whether the person should be aloud jail time or should be put to death for their crimes. This job takes years of training and many tests and evaluations.

(Many underground farms are placed within the city below the streets but many are also just outside the city.
Beyond The City Limits:
Since the city is so emense people find it unnecessary to leave the city limits. People say it's foolish to go into the unkown when you have everything you need right in front of you. Most people also don't leave because beyond the city limits is just miles of unexplored desert and abandoned buildings and cars.
Crime:
Crime does happen in this city, but the deleteriours prevent most crimes from happening. People will go into the desert a bit, collecting metal to build or fix things and sell them for money. This however, is a crime and most underground shops are quickly resolved and closed. Many still remain, because they are unknown to the general public.
Other Occupations
So, other than the 2 really important jobs citizens can get basic jobs, business, clean up, food delivery. Since not every citizen can get a job as a farmer or a deleteriour, the city provides many ways for people to make money for themselves and their families.
