~5 Years Later~

“Michael! Star! Your aunts are here.” I scream up the stairs. “Yay Auntie Cynthia!” Star says running straight for Cynthia. Of course they would they loved playing with her belly. Cynthia was now 6 months pregnant and she looked every bit of it. Brandy and Ben haven’t had any kids yet but they officially decided to try. “Hello Star, Michael.” Cynthia says smiling as she leans down for their hugs. If you hadn’t guessed yet both Star and Michael were now 5 as well as Cyndys son, that’s right she had a son. “Where’s Auntie Cyndy?” Michael asked looking around just as she walked in. “Sorry it took so long Lestat just refused to get out the car.” Cyndy says laughing. “Don’t fret Brandy and Ben haven’t arrived yet.” I say smiling. We all head to the back patio; we were having a picnic to celebrate each of our 5 year wedding anniversaries. We had gotten to the point where we no longer went all out with our presents. We knew how much each of us cared for the other. About a year ago I had lost my mother, some horrible vampire hunter that had been chasing her for years finally found her. She made sure to hide every bit of evidence of us so he wouldn’t come after us as well. We still hadn’t heard anything from him so we now assumed all was safe. Life couldn’t be any better, I mean come on who wouldn’t enjoy being a vampire, living forever with the one person they would always love, and have beautiful children? I know I enjoyed it. “So has Lestat given you anymore problems?” I ask Cyndy. “Nope nothing other than he seems to never want to leave that damn car.” Cyndy says laughing. “I know how that is, I went through it with Michael too.” I say laughing as well. About 15 minutes later Brandy and Ben finally showed up. “Well it’s nice of you to join us.” Cynthia says laughing. “Oh hush we all can’t be as fast as you.” Brandy says laughing too. “Well now that everyone is here why don’t we start the grill and get some food in these poor kids stomachs.” I say laughing as well. We make our way to the patio and Aaron start the grill. He had become quite the cook since the kids were born. “So are you and Michael working on baby number two yet?” I ask smiling. “Actually yes we’ve been trying for a few weeks now.” Cyndy says smiling. “Well yay my baby is gonna need someone to play with.” Cynthia says laughing. “Speaking of your baby did you find out what you’re going to be having?” Brandy asks. “Yes we actually did we’re having a girl.” Cynthia says smiling. “Got any names picked out yet?” Michael asks. “Nope didn’t get that far yet.” DJ says smiling. “Well you’ve still got a few months to figure that out.” Brandy says. “Mommy I’m hungry.” Star says climbing into my lap. “The food will be ready in a few minutes sweetie.” I say kissing her forehead. She was just the sweetest little thing ever when she got all pouty. “Food’s done.” Aaron say walking over to the table with a plate full of burgers. “Mmm Aaron that was just wonderful.” Cyndy says rubbing her stomach. “Why thank you.” Aaron says smiling. “Why don’t you kids go play?” I say to Star and Michael. They immediately run over to the swing set Michael had built for them. That’s how we spent the rest of the day, just sitting there watching the kids play and gossiping. Life couldn’t have been better. I had 3 of the most amazing friends anyone could ask for, their husbands were amazing too. My baby Aaron was everything I could ever ask for in a husband and a friend. As I sat there listening to my friends I couldn’t help but think this was how everything was supposed to be all along. Every trial and hurt we had gone through was meant to lead us to this. When it finally got too dark for the kids to play, we all went inside to watch a few movies. “Cyndy do you want to help me make some popcorn for the kids before they fall asleep?” I ask. “Sure.” She says as we both head to the kitchen. “You’ve done great with the kids.” She says putting a bag into the microwave. “Thanks, it helps having an amazing aunt to spoil them as well.” I say smiling at her. “Me spoil pssh I don’t know what you’re talking about.” She says laughing. “I bet you don’t.” I say laughing too. We head back to the living room with two bowls of popcorn, one for the kids and one for us. We start with The Lost Boys, before it’s even over the kids are asleep. I pick up Star and Aaron grabs Michael and we carry them to their rooms. I couldn’t help but stand there for a few minutes just watching them. “What are you thinking?” Aaron asks wrapping his arms around my waist. “Just that they are growing up so fast. I don’t want them to turn out like us.” I say looking at him. “They won’t they have all of these good influences in their lives they’re going to do something amazing one day.” He says kissing me. “Your right I feel it, they’re going to be great.” I say smiling at them once more before we walk out. As we walk back into the living room I glance around. Each of my friends were snuggled up and into the movie. I couldn’t help but smile our family looked so perfect. I snuggle up to Aaron and finally see what’s playing, it was Silent Hill. I smile to myself and I can’t help but think this was the movie that had started it all.
