My first fic, what-what! Also, when the writing is in italics, that means the character is thinking it.  Anyways, enjoy!

Roman's POV

You've got this Roman, you're the prince! I thought to myself. I mean how hard was it? All I had to do was walk up to Virgil, give him a pickup line or two, and walk away! I've done this countless times with other damsels in distress.  I've totally got this.

I opened up my door and began the journey into the mind. Knowing Anxiety, he was probably in his room.
I tried to ignore my heart beating rapidly as I approached the emo's door. I tried to concentrate on the carpet underneath my feet and controlling my breathing. I stopped in front of the closed entryway, but when I raised my hand to knock, I couldn't do it. This was a terrible idea. I was going to go back to my room. I was going to stay in there and sulk until I fell asleep. I was going to try to think of how to tell him, but just as I  turned, the door opened.
"Roman?" the sleepy trait asked. It was only then that I noticed his true beauty. He was about two inches shorter than me, and his hair was a scrappy mess. His bangs fell perfectly over his eyes, which had severe bags underneath them. He was truly stunning...
"Uh, Roman?" Virgil waved a hand in front of my face.
"Uh, y-yes Virgil?" I stuttered. God, why was he so cute?
"Why the hell are you standing in front of my door? It's creepy."
I laughed nervously, "I-uh-I was...just...coming to get you up! You shouldn't be asleep at this time of day! "
He gave me a quizzical look, "Roman, you do realize what time it is, right? This is a joke?"
"Um, no. No this is not a joke. By the way, what time is it?"
".... It's four o'clock in the morning."

I could literally feel my eyes widen in surprise, "What?! Surely you're joking." Anxiety scoffed and pulled me into his room. It was so dark and mysterious, I kept a hand on my sword, ready to attack anything that threatened him-I MEAN-us. When he stopped, he showed me an old MCR alarm clock. The crimson numbers on the screen clearly read 4:02 am. I had never been more embarrassed in my entire existence.

"So," my dark angel muttered quietly, "are you going to tell me what you are doing in front of my door at 4 in the morning, or are you going to stick with the pathetic lie you've told?"

I pondered my answer you a few seconds before I looked at Anxiety and said, "I'm going to stick with my 'pathetic lie' if you don't mind."

Virgil scoffed, but he didn't press any further.

"So what are you doing up so early?" I asked. He suddenly shrunk into his hoodie, which I just noticed he was still wearing.

"I uh.." he whispered quietly, "I couldn't sleep. I had a- "

"Panic attack." I finished. He looked up at me with tears in his eyes and nodded.

Normally, I would have just thrown it aside. Normally, I would pretend that I didn't care. But for some reason, I felt like he needed me.

I swiftly picked him up bridal-style and carried him to his bed. I made sure to position us to where he was still comfortable, which resulted in Virgil being cradled in my lap. He silently began to break down, his tears soaking my shirt with every whimper. I ran my fingers through his hair and began to whisper in his ear.

"Hey, I'm here. Nothing can harm you, I won't let it."

We stayed in that position, and I actually quite enjoyed it. Knowing that I could protect him and that he was so close to me, it felt........right.

Eventually, I felt my eyelids begin to grow heavy, and without thinking about it, I drifted to sleep.
