Cat opened her eyes to find herself lying on the jade green grass, looking up at a the night time carnival, the carnival of the stars and the moon. Around her the dancing fireflies cartwheeled through the air, sharing out all their happiness to everyone that gazed upon them.                                         "Catherine."  her Mother called gently.                                                 "Catho." That was her Dad.        Little Cat looked up to find her mum and dad sitting next to her, holding hands they both kissed her. Cat fell asleep as she realized how lucky she was.

"Cat!" A voice came thundering from downstairs. Feeling a great sense of worry Cat came to her senses and sprang up to her feet. Cat looked at her clock,"8 o'clock."

The words repeated through her head. "8 o'clock!" Cat realizing how late she had woken up and ran to get dressed.

Running downstairs Cat noticed her mum looking tired and exhausted. "Mum." Cat looked at her mum annoyed. "what is it honey?" Cats mum spun around in her office chair and was back on her computer again. Cats mum had been working extra long hours; ever since Cats dad died years ago.         "I told you not to over work and make your self sick." Cat had always felt so hopeless when ever her mum became sick, which was often as her mum was the only one working to keep everything in place "Oh, don't worry about me, you should get going." Her mum said turning to face her again. Her crimson red hair fell across her tired blood shot eyes, caused by lack of sleep. She kissed her on the forehead and looked at her one more time before turning back to  the computer.                                     "I love you mum." Cat said as a whisper.

Running, Cat tried to remain calm, acknowledging the fact that she was already late Cat decided to slow down. Still walking Cat noticed a box abandoned on the side of the road. A dirty brown cardboard box.

Looking around at everyone passing by, Cat noticed that no one bothered to take a look.

"It is the rush hour after all." Cat said still panting to catch her breath. Deciding to take a look Cat began to the walk down the pavement. (completely forgetting that she had school.)

"How cute." A passing boy said bending down to take a look.

The boy was wearing the same uniform as Cat, but she had never seen him before. Could it be his first day at  Jade Academy?. The boy took of his hood to reveal a slightly tanned face with jet black hair and a pair of green eyes, as green as the greenest thing Cat had ever seen.

"who is he?" Cat thought...

Cat realizing that she still had school was no racing on her way there. "I'm finally here Cat." said exhausted and frustrated from running. Looking up Cat spotted Mr Trafford her teacher looking at her sharply.

"What time do you call this Miss green?" Mr Trafford was strict on lates, one late means a big long detention.

"Im sorry Sir. " Cat found it hard to make contact while still thinking about the boy.

"Detention after school in my room!" Mr Trafford bellowed.

Cat walked to her class as quick as possible trying not to look behind.

It was already first lesson; meaning a lesson of history.

Cat tip toed in hoping her teacher would not notice.

"Ah Catherine Green." Mrs Jones  said looking at Cat for attention .

"Well sit down then." Mrs Jones said smiling. Cat was glad she had history, her teacher was the kindest.

"Cat." A recognisable voice came from behind.

"Abbey?" Cat turned to find her best friend Abbey in almost tears.

"Are you crying, what happened?  "I'm so happy your in, I though I would have to go through biology by myself."

"I heard that there is this new boy in our year." Abbey exclaimed with her exited face.

"New boy?"  Cat was now wondering if it was the boy she had seen that morning.

"Yea, he is from Paris and he is super hot. I have to go now to band practice see you later." With that Abbey strolled away, her brown pony tail bobbing up and down as she went. Abbey had a tendency to leave parts of her sentences unfinished or at a cliffhanger, which Cat thought suited Abbey's character.

Cat decided to go to the library as she had last lesson free. About to open the library door Cat was startled by a group of girls giggling and flirting.

" Your from France right?" One of the girls asked the boy.

"Yes." He answered looking kind of loney despite the fact that he was surrounded by everyone.

"Your all idiots!" Cat muttered under her breath hoping no one had heard her.

Wanting to have some peace and quiet Cat left the library and went up to the school roof, which was more like a giant balcony. Cat loved to go there, she loved to feel the breeze and let her mind drift.

She thought about everything she did that day and reflected on all her actions and thoughts. The boy just kept coming back to her head, his hair, his eyes, his voice and smile. Cat felt herself falling asleep, the words still repeating through her mind, like a catchy song that replays in your head.

Cat felt a hint of warm air brushing against her checks, like the warmth of someone's breath. Cat opened her eye to find a faint figure staring at her, as her consciousness came back she realized she was face to face with the boy, the boy from that morning.

"Hey." He said smiling widely. Cat sat up, she could feel her cheeks burning with embarrassment.

"H-hey." Cat had always felt insecure when it came to popular boys, she rather not involve her self with them. It's like a an unnecessary part of a jigsaw Cat thought.

After a few moments of an awkward silence the boy spoke up.

"I seen you this morning." Cat looked up at him surprised.

"Really?"

"Yea, I was thinking of catching up with you; you know because it was my first day and all." He smiled and  stretched out his hand.

Ignoring the hand Cat got up by herself, what did he expect anyway?

He continued talking," hey I still haven't told you my name." He smiled warmly, a pleasant breeze blew calmy sending his hair in numerous directions.

"My name is Jason, Jason Smith."

Jason looked at Cat waiting for her to introduce herself too.

Cat looked up and couldn't help but smile.

"My name is Catherine Green, but people call me Cat." Jason didn't say anything for a few seconds. Puzzled by his behaviour Cat looked at him confused.

His eyes grew wider his smile reappeared little by little. Cat sensed a repeated scene, a scene from long ago.

"Ca-Cather?"
