Jack walks past the group, not wanting to deal with Simon and Clary.  He senses for Izzy and Alec, he senses Alec first and goes over to him.  "What the hell is going on?  I saw Jace with the redhead and a mundane outside," Jack asked his friend who looked at him with furrowed brows.

Alec grabs onto Jack's arm, the blonde boy tries not to let butterflies fill his stomach at his crushes actions, Alec drags Jack to the main part of the institute where they saw Clary, Simon and Jace.  "What's going on?  Why is there a mundane in the institute?" Alec asked.

"A circle member followed him to get to Clary," Jace said with a sigh and glare towards Jack, knowing he was the one who alerted Alec.

"A circle rune, just like on the guys that took my mother,"  Clary said.

"What exactly is a circle member, and why are they trying to kill us?" Simon asked and Jack smiled at him, liking that he was actually trying to figure out what the hell was going on.

"All we know is that a long time ago the circle led a revolt, a lot of shadowhunters got killed, including my father," Jace told them.

"Since the revolt, we've been forbidden to even hear about the circle," Alec said and Jack nodded.

"How is that even possible?  It's you history," Clary said and Jack scoffed while Jace smiled.

"Coming from the girl who didn't know she was a shadowhunter yesterday?" Jack asked her sarcastically an Jace smacked him in the chest to which he playfully shoved Jace's shoulder.

"Yeah, yeah you're right," Clary said as the three shadowhunters started to walk away, "And I'm the only person who knows the truth is missing, so I don't care about you're rules and what's forbidden there has to be someone who can tell why they've taken my mother."  Jack glared at the girl, not liking her attitude.

"There is," Jace said walking away, "You coming?"  Simon and Clary both start to follow him, Jack burning a hole into Clary's head with his glare.  He already didn't like her, she was new to the world and she thought her mom was more important than the rules that thousands of shadowhunters follow.

"No, no, not you," Jace said to Simon who went to follow with Clary.  Clary narrowed her eyes at the blonde haired boy.

"Hey, we're a package deal," Clary said.

"Yeah," Simon said, softly in agreement.

Jace gestures to were he was taking her, "There are runes all over the training room floor that would kill you mundy boyfriend."

"He's not my/ I'm like," They both said at the same time before stopping when they realized they were doing so.  "We're just friends," Simon said and Clary finished, "best friends."

"And I'm tough, so I can handle runes, bring on the runes.  So, what exactly are runes?" Simon asked and Jack almost awed at the boy.  Jack didn't understand why Simon was friends with Clary, the red head was whiney in his opinion while Simon seemed very loveable and dorky.

"They give shadowhunters our demon fighting powers," Isabelle said, activating one of hers to prove a point.  Jack smiled at he watched Simon look at her, his bottom jaw going slack.

"So hot," Simon mummered and Jack laughed, smiling at the mundane.  Jace cleared his throat being protective over Izzy and Simon quickly gestured to her arm, "The rune."

Izzy laughed lightly, "Don't worry Clary, I'll watch over the best friend, I was about to make breakfast." Jack sucked in a breath.

"On second thought," Jace began, but Jack finished, "the runes might be the safer option here."

Izzy smiled with a giggle, "I'll pretend I didn't hear that, excuse my brothers lack of manners, this Alec.  That's Jack." Izzy gestured to each boy as she said their name and jack waved when she said his.  "And I'm Isabelle," Izzy offered her hand to him.

"Lewis, Simon Lewis.  Two first names, am I still talking?" Simon asked and Jack laughed walking over to the two.

"See? Best friend safe and sound here," Jace said.

"If anything happens to him," Clary said only to get cut off by the boy in question.

"Go on, I'll be fine," Simon said and Jack nodded with a smile, drapping an arm across Izzy's shoulders.

"Yeah go, besides I already like him more than you," Jack said with a fake cocky grin towards the red head.

"Were are we going?" Clary asked, choosing to ignore the blonde.

"Training room," Jace said gesturing to it, when Clary goes Jace goes over to Simon, "Hey, oh don't eat the food. Dangerous."

"Jace coming?" Clary asked and Jace clapped Simon on the shoulder before following after the red head.

"Well he ain't wrong, don't worry Izzy I still love you the same," Jack said with a teasing grin at both Simon and Isabelle.  "But if your food kills the funny mundane I'mma kill ya," Jack teased bumping shoulders with her.

Something in Jack led him to the place he was currently at.  Jack knew angels were real but he was by no means religious, so he didn't truly know why he was at a church.  All he knew was that the pew he was currently sitting in was rather uncomfortable.  He leaned back, his arms stretched out on the back of the pew and his eyes on the large mural of an angel that was directly behind the place a priest would usually be.

Jack leaned forward, propping his elbows on his legs and using his hands to hold us his limp head.  "Why the hell am I here?" He asked himself, confused about why he wound up here.

"Good question," A voice spoke that caused Jack to jump in surprise and whirl around to face a man.  "Why are you here?" The man asked him, sitting down next to him with a smile.

"Who are you?" Jack asked him, eyeing the man warily.

"Me?  I'm just a guy in a church, thought I would be alone but it appears not," The man told him with a soft smile.  Jack noted something in the guys eyes as he looked at him, it almost looked like... awe or pride.

"You come to empty churches often?" Jack asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Nope!  Do you?" The guy asked back, a teasing tone in his voice.

"No," Jack said slowly, before letting his head drop again.  "I don't really know why I'm here."

"Well, I usually come to a church to feel safe, or try to figure something out.  So you confused about something or feel unsafe?" The man asked, concern shining in his eyes that Jack couldn't understand.  They had just met, why did this man seem to care for him at all?

"Confused? Always," Jack said with a slight laugh, shaking his head.  The man smiled at Jack.

"Well then, I guess you do know why you're here then," He told Jack and Jack looked at the ground with a smile.

"Yeah I guess I do, than-" Jack cut himself off for when he looked back up the man was no longer there,"-k you."
