ONE : LES RESULTATS

Naira's Home @ Rajajinagar, Bangalore:

Naira and Zara were together checking their medical entrance exam results. They both new they were not going to be selected for any medical colleges but still looked in.

Naira: You do know it's totally useless looking right? I totally flunked in my EE.

Zara: Okay babe C'mon! Considering the lucks we have got so far, I really wouldn't mind checking our results.

They both giggled.

The computer screen displayed their results. They were shocked. Both the girls ran down the stairs.

Naira: Mom! You won't believe what happened!! I and Zara got into medical college Ma...

Zara: And that too same college mom! We are totally born for each other!

Mom: Wow girls! I'm so happy for you both. I knew you two would get into medical field.

Naira and Zara hugged each other and Mrs.Tripathi joined them. They were all so happy.

Mom: Here have some halwa and take this to Ayeshaji also. Tell her that she owe us a tasty biriyani!

Zara: Yes mom. She is definitely going to make the best biriyani ever! I cannot imagine how happy they both are gonna be.

Naira and Zara had been together since their arrival on earth. Their families lived opposite to each other and their Dad's did business together. While Naira's mom was a gynecologist Zara's mother was a celebrated fashion designer. Their fathers did business together. There is nothing that did not know about each other. They were soul sisters. 

Both of them feared they would be separated for graduation, but there also lucky charm worked out.

Naira & Zara: Aamii ...!

Zara: Aami, we both got into same college!!

Aami: Where? Which college? What are you saying Zara, stay breathe and then speak girl!

Naira: Aami, we both got into MGM Medical College for MBBS! Zara is too excited to breathe.

Zara: Yes, medical college.... MBBS... together! (Breathing heavily)

Aami: Ya Allah! That's great news children. And you both together, that's even better!

Zara: Yeah! We know right....

Naira: Aami here is halwa, mom gave it.

Zara: Aami make the best biriyani for dinner and tell Abba to bring huge bottles of Pepsi.

Aami: Oh you little devil, you are always looking a reason to party. Anyways... Yes we have to celebrate this. I'll call your Abba right away and give him the good news.

Naira: Aami, he may have known already. Mom must have called dad.

Zara: Yeah right!

They were all happy. Both families decided to get together and celebrate off this news.

Rakshitha's House AVENUE STREET, Bangalore:

Rakshitha, the eldest in her family, carefully typed her roll number on the result screen. Prayed and entered "GO" on the screen.

She held her mom's hand tightly with her eyes closely shut. Her dad tapped her on her back and her brother stood beside them all.

The screen flashed "M.G.M. Medical College Mumbai".

Mama: Raki, look!

Raki: No mama, you say what it is. I can't look. I am too nervous. Whatever it is, just say.

Papa: No Raki, you should look. We cannot tell.

Raki: Papa please. I can't.

Raki's Brother: Okay people, that's it. Raki, you are admitted in Mumbai, MGM Medical College. Now open your eyes and look at the screen. Oh God such a dramebaaz family I have!

Raki: Oh God, really! I never thought I would. And it's in Mumbai. I'm loving this.

Papa: Yes Raki. So in 6 years yow will be Dr.Rakshitha Agnihothri.

They all hugged as a family. Rakshitha was happy beyond anyone could tell. Both her parents were engineers running their family business. She had always wanted to be a doctor and worked for it day and night. Now finally her hard work became a success.

Yuvika's Flat, Bridge Road, Bangalore:

Yuvika was sitting in the balcony with her younger brother and playing UNO. Her mom came in and glared at both of them.

Yuvi: What now mom? Why are you rolling your eyes at us?

Mom: Yuvi how careless and carefree can you be? It's 7 pm already. Don't you want to check your Entrance exam result? Why are you still sitting her playing cards?

Younger Brother: Yuvi! C'mon, why did you not tell us your result is coming today? I'll call dad and come, you and mom go check your result.

Yuvi: People! C'mon, I know I won't be into any of the medical colleges. Why unnecessarily check the results?

Yuvi's mom and brother stood there and rolled their eyes even more at Yuvi. Yuvi forcefully walked into her room and opened her laptop. Her brother went to call dad from garden downstairs.

Yuvi typed her roll number and the site went buffering to get Ms.Yuvika David's medical entrance exam results.

Yuvi: Okay this buffering will take forever. I'll go have water and come. You sit here mom.

Mom: Yuvi!

She pretended not to listen and went to kitchen to get bottle. She had small fear from inside. She drank water and came back into her room to see her dad, two brothers and mom standing all amused. She did not understand what happened in 2 minutes.

Elder brother: Yuvi you told us your MEE was a total disaster. I never knew it was this bad.

Dad: Yes, what did you do for the exam Yuvi?

Yuvi: Okay guys, now you are scaring me. What's it? Is my scores that bad? Move! Let me see.

Mom: Bad? Huh! Look for yourself.

Yuvi: "Admitted to M.G.M. Medical College, Mumbai", WTH! How did this happen?

Younger Brother: We also really want to know if the word disaster has two meanings.

They all laughed out loud and covered Yuvi in hugs. The Davids, one the high profile elite people in Bangalore, were happy to see their daughter admitted to medical college in merit.

Yuvika was happy on her unexpected win. She thanked god under her breathe.
