SIX: DISSECTION HALL

Tuesday, 8:15 am, all the students stood in the entrance of the Anatomy Lab Building. Some were scared, some were cold, many were excited while many were about to faint. All of their eyes were searching for their Prof GS to come and welcome them inside into a hall of dead bodies, well, cadavers in medical terms.

Prof GS came through the hall way from the main entrance along with an aged Professor. He was in formal attire with a tucked in formal shirt and black pants. His bald head and layers of wrinkled showed he worked for quite a long while. Wearing a rectangle spectacles he followed Prof GS to the place near the students stood.

Prof GS: Good morning Students! SO, welcome to your first Lab class Due to some meetings and issues, today you will only have basic anatomy lab and your microbiology lab is cancelled. Now... This is Dr. Albin Joseph, he will be taking your anatomy lab for the first 4 hours. Later I will continue the sessions. Next thing, you have to be in group of 4 forming 15 groups to do all your lab procedures. Do you want to form or should I put you in alphabetical order?

Zara: Alphabetical order Nooo....!

Prof GS: Okay, who was that who is so horrified of Alphabetical orders?

Raki: Zara! Why can't you keep it to yourself?

Prof GS: Who is it?

Zara: Sorry Ma'am, it was me. I accidently spoke out loud.

Prof GS: Nah! It's okay kid. I just wanted to know why you don't like ordering it in Alphabets.

Zara: Alphabetical ordering to me is so kiddish Ma'am. It's a good way to group people, but since we are.... You know...

Prof GS: Oh! Yes yes, I totally understand. Okay then your group yourself and stand in circles in the lab. I will come in 5 minutes and number the groups.

They all entered the lab. It smelled of formaldehyde. There were 16 tables with microscopes, needles, injections and some unknown instruments. Most of them pulled on their masks on.

Rishi, Sam, Zara and Raki became one group and Naira, Nik, Yuvi and Tahir were one group. Prof GS came in and numbered each group took down their names as groups and handed over the details to Prof AJ and went off.

Prof AJ: Good morning class.

All the Students: Good morning Dr.

Prof AJ: So we have two hours of class today... from 8:30 to 10:30am. One and a half hour I will teach you the required theory for the next two lab sessions, and from 10 am to 10:30 am you will have to attend to your first lab procedure.

Everyone nodded in agreement and the Prof turned towards the board. He taught the basics like pricking blood for testing, requirements to do a dissection, the instruments they have to use, etc..,.

Rishi: This is quite boring, when are we going to dissect?

Sam: So interested in that Rishi?

Rishi: Not that I love dead bodies...

Raki: Cadavers...

Rishi: yeah that, but I am pretty sure that's way more interesting than the theory.

Zara: Agreed, but we should know how to do it.

Sam: For the first time in two days she spoke sense!

Raki: Guys Sshh... He is looking.

Zara giggled and they all remained silent.

Around 10:10 am the lecture was over and they were all instructed to be at a lab table as a group.
