While they were having breakfast reba looked outside the big window and saw the sun already shining.
"Look at that beautiful sunset. I can really enjoy the view of it." She said while she pointed at the sun.
Skeeter turned his head and followed her view.
"Wow it is a beautiful sunset. I bet it will be a warm day."
"Perfect weather to go hiking." She said with a smile on her face.
"It sure is!"
"I have an idea! Maybe we can also have a picnic."
"That's sounds great. Let's do it!"
After they finished their breakfast they showered, put on their hiking clothes and took everything they need for their picnic.
"I love that old-fashioned picnic basket!" Reba said when she saw Skeeter coming into the kitchen with it. He smiled.
"Yeah me too. I used to picnic a lot with the kids when they were younger."
"Sounds like a lot of fun!"
"Mostly it was." He chuckled.
"Yeah having a picnic with young children isn't always easy, I know what you are talking about!"
Skeeter nodded.
"I also have a big comfortable blanket to sit on."
"Perfect! I took some silverware, glasses and napkins." Reba said while putting everything in the basket.
"Great! What do you want to eat?"
"What do you have to offer?" She asked while she winked at him.
"Let's take a look in the fridge."
He took her hand and they both looked for something to eat. Soon they made some small sandwiches and they found a Mediterranean salad which both of them loved. They also packed some snacks like strawberry's, a cut up watermelon and some sugar coated nuts. When reba went upstairs to put on her shoes Skeeter secretly packed a bottle of champagne and a couple of champagne glasses. When they were both ready they drove to the Grand Teton National Park.
"Wow it's beautiful up here!" Reba stated when she looked outside and saw the most beautiful nature she has ever seen.
"I know. It's the biggest Park here in Jackson Hole. I want to take you to the death Canyon and the static peak divide, is that ok for you?"
"Sure! I guess you know the most beautiful places up here." She said smiling.
"Yeah. It isn't one of the most popular hikes here what makes it not to touristic." He explained his choice.
"Sounds perfect!"
They drove till the end of the paved road where they parked the car. They took everything they needed and before they started their hike into the trailhead they shared a long, sweet kiss. While they were hiking Skeeter explained his girl that the place is the prime bear habitat for both black bears and grizzlies. During their hike they enjoyed the most beautiful scenery with mountain lakes, wildflowers and wildlife. They snaked up to the spectacular Phelps Lake Overlook.
"I think we found the right place for our picnic sweetheart." Skeeter said while he looked over at Reba. He saw her admiring the view with a big smile on her face.
"Wow baby it's beautiful up here!"
He putted everything on the ground, came behind her, put his arms around her waist and gave her sweet kisses in her neck. She moaned softly.
"I love you babe." He said while they both enjoyed the view they were looking at.
She turned her head and looked deeply into his eyes. "I love you too."
A few moments later they put everything ready for their picnic and enjoyed the food, the view in front of them but most of all each other's company. When they finished eating they just enjoyed their special moment together.
"I suggest we hike a little more and later on I have a little surprise." Skeeter smiled.
"A surprise?" She asked curious.
Skeeter nodded.
They walked to ascend into Death Canyon. They climbed steeply until they reached the Alaska Basin trail. They continued climbing the static peak divide. Once they got on the top Reba's jaw dropped. Up there they had the most breathtaking view over Jackson Hole, the Wind River Range, Rimrock Lake, Death Canyon, Buck mountain and Static Peak.
"OMG honey it's wonderful up here." She said with little tears in her eyes.
He smiled and pulled her into a sweet hug. He loved they way she really enjoyed the little things in life. They looked deeply into each other eyes and there on top of that mountain they shared a very intense kiss. When they broke for air reba smiled.
"You had a surprise?"
Skeeter chuckled. "Absolutely."
He took the bottle of champagne out of the basket and poured them in. He laid down the blanked and reba sat in between his legs, resting her upper body against his. He hold her close and they truly enjoyed their special moment together. After a while reba started to sign. Skeeter looked at her confused.
"What's wrong baby?"
"I don't want to leave you."
Skeeter also sighed. "I know."
She turned her head and looked him in the eyes.
"Honey?"
"Yeah..."
"Are you gonna miss me when I'm gone?"
He looked deeply into her eyes and nodded. "Yeah I really gonna miss you!"
"I gonna miss you too." She got tears in her eyes.
He turned her around, pulled her on his lap and dried her tears.
"Don't cry baby. We will see each other again, real soon!" He said before he pecked her lips.
"You promise?" She asked him shyly.
He took her hand and put it on top of his heart. "With your hand on my heart, I promise you we will see each other back real soon. I can't go long without you."
She nodded and smiled between her tears. "Neither can I!"
They kissed for a while before they walked back to their car, their hands intertwined the entire time.
Both enjoyed some more hours together at his place before he had to drive her to the airport to get her flight. At the airport it was a difficult goodbye. Both had tears in their eyes and they hold each other real close.
"I really gonna miss you honey!" She said while she gave him a soft kiss on his lips.
"I gonna miss you too babe."
"It's actually so crazy. We just got together and I already have the feeling I can't miss you anymore." She looked deeply into his eyes.
"I know. I have the same feeling. I think we feel this because we're meant to be together baby. God put us together and we found our other half with each other."
She nodded smiling widely through her tears.
"I think you're right!"
They shared another sweet yet passionate kiss. Reba looked at the clock.
"I really have to go or I'll miss my flight." She said sadly.
Skeeter nodded before he kissed her one more time.
"Please be careful and text or call me when you got home."
Reba nodded. "I will."
Before she took her suitcase she pulled him into a strong hug one last time. Kissing him with so much passion and love. Both smiled widely when they broke for air.
"I love you baby!"
"I love you sweetheart!"
With a last peck on his lips she took her suitcase and boarded her plane. They waved at each other and blew kisses before she was out of his sight.
He sighed deeply before he went back to his car. Once in his car he let his tears stream down his cheeks. He was so in love with this woman and he already missed her. He dried his tears and sent her a text before he drove home.
