A/N: please take note that I have changed the MC's name into KANG EUN HYE, since I realised Hye Ra was already used in one of my other fics.
"okay, we're ending practice here." mark claps his hands together and the six other boys in the room turned their gazes onto their leader.
"this early?" jisung asks in surprise, and gestures to the clock.
mark nods. "we're getting new staff today, they want us in meeting room 7." he clarifies, and jeno tilts his head to the side in thought.
but his thoughts were soon interrupted by mark's. "get your things, and get changed into...less sweatier clothes first." he chuckles, very obviously talking about how drenched their attire was.
the 7 boys then disperse and reunite in different clothing as they all sat in their seats in meeting room 7.
there was initially silence in the room, but haechan breaks it.
"we don't usually get new staff in the middle of the year." he comments, and a few others agree.
jeno, who has been silent all the while, decides to speak up.
"i...requested for someone."
"what?" jaemin exclaims in surprise. "you did?"
"yep." he replies.
"who is he? why did you suddenly–" haechan starts to talk, but then the door opens abruptly, and the room falls into silence as their familiar-looking manager enters.
soon thereafter, a girl follows closely behind him. for what the dreamies know, she didn't look old. rather, she looked...their age.
the manager raises his brows as he noticed the boys turn silent.
"let me get straight to the point. she will be interning with me for a period of time. since that is so, she will also be following us during your promotions," the manager's voice echoed through the room crisp clear.
"she'll introduce herself now."
"hello...my name is kang eun hye, 18 this year." she bows politely, and scans the room. her eyes land on jeno's.
she was instantly reminded of how the manager had told her that she had caught the eye of a member.
knowing that it wasn't beneficial to her even though she could work with these idols, she initially had refused the offer.
however, she changed her mind as the manager offered an interning spot for her instead.
now that was beneficial to her. she could earn some money, and at the same time, she could learn of the recording studios. the equipment, the professionalism.
she aspired to be a lyricist, a composer...a music producer.
as soon as she introduced herself, the room grew quiet for a split second. then, the manager talks.
"starting from today onwards, she'll accompany us at certain timings. oh, but," he glances in the girl's direction. "she will be coming with us to the dorms today. reason is i need to make sure she knows where it's located, especially if im busy with the other units,"
"she will be responsible for informing you about your schedules. now, we'll be returning. catch up." the manager finishes and strides out of the room. eun hye follows along, not the least flustered.
but they boys were.
they swiftly got off their seats and caught up to them.
"jeno, this is who you requested?" haechan whisper yells as they sped walked. "i can't believe it."

we stepped into the apartment complex that was password protected. i heard that SM owns the whole building, and a few other artists also reside here, like the rest of the NCT team.
i managed to understand their concept with much difficulty.
the door opens with a beep, and i follow the manager inside.
i took in the surroundings. it looked like an ordinary flat. wooden tiles, and three bedrooms. a sleek black sofa was placed against the wall, a television opposite of it.
"this feels weird." haechan comments.
"why?" jaemin chuckles.
"probably the first time a girl has ever entered our dorm." he shrugs in reply, and i pretend i don't hear them.
their voices slowly fade out from my mind as their manager begins explaining about how haechan and mark shared a room, jaemin and jisung in another, and finally, chenle, jeno and renjun in the last room.
he also explained about the responsibilities of helping out and being an intern, not to forget to mention about how they have a recording session tomorrow early in the morning.
she was responsible for that.
and of course, the manager didn't forget to leave out one of the most important rules.
"ah, yes. and also...there's a no dating rule. it would be most helpful if you are professional." the manager warns, and i couldn't help but scoff.
"don't worry, sir. there isn't a chance that would happen."
