Chapter Two

Mia dropped her body on her queen-sized bed with her arms spread out and eyes closed. Feeling the relief of finally laying down, she let a soft sigh out. She took a minute then opened her eyes again. As if it was a cue, her phone buzzed next to her waist. She hesitated about looking at her phone, but she ended up doing so anyway. Meanwhile, Alan was in his room. He had his headphones on, they were wirelessly connected to his phone. He was listening to Location by Khalid on his studio noise-canceling white beats. He smiled as he tied his brown blondish half-neck long hair up and left his room and made his way to the kitchen.

Alan hummed along with the song as he made his way to the kitchen

The kitchen is wide and has all kinds of equipment and it's usually fully stocked with all the grocery that they could use. Alan was getting the ingredients he needed to make the brownies. He knew exactly where everything was since they never moved anything around. He got the oil, the milk, the water, and the brownie floor out. He got the mixing bowl and dumped everything in when he was tapped on his back. Alan turned around ready to punch when he realized it was just Skylar.

"Damn it Sky!" Alan yelled while pulling his headphones down. "You scared the crap out of me!"

"Hehe. Sorry?" She giggled as she questioned fully aware that he knows she doesn't mean her apology.

"Would it kill you to knock?" He asked while washing his hands.

"I did, dude! It's your fault for having your fucking noise-blocking headphones on" she fought back and turned around making her way down to Mia's room. "Besides is your fault for not locking the door" Alan just mimicked her and went back to baking the brownies.

Sky walked towards Mia's room as she took her black Nike hoodie off. She opened Mia's door and found her on her bed asleep. Sky walked to Mia knowing that she fell asleep from exhaustion. Mia was sleeping on top of her covers with her phone on her chest. Sky kneeled on her knees next to the bed and examined Mia's face. She smiled at her peaceful sleeping self and nature. Sky moved Mia's curls out of the way so she could get a better look at Mia's face. Sky stroked Mia's soft clear light-skinned face except for the bags under her eyes. Mia has lined black eyebrows, light pink natural full lips, eyes that made her look innocent, not that she isn't, a small nose, and a dimpled chin. As Sky was smiling down at Mia, she slowly began to wake up.

"Rise and shine, gorgeous" Sky said with a smile still looking down.

"Sky?" Mia slowly opened her eyes and looked at Sky's face then checked her smartwatch for the time. 3:20. With a yawn, Mia added, "I'm really sleepy, are you?"

"Nah. I'm a vampire" Sky moved the covers from underneath Mia as they laughed and walked to the other side of the bed, laid down, and pulled the covers on the both of them. Mia slid closer to Sky and wrapped her arm around Sky.

"Can we go to sleep?" Sky asked while already feeling sleep taking over.

"You can sleep, I'm not tired. I told you to stop pulling all-nighters, I can see the dark circles all the way from Africa for fuck's sake." She said with an angry yet calm voice.

"I'm sorry but you know I have to" She responded but she barely whispered the last part.

"No, you don't. If you didn't do all the extra shit you do, you wouldn't have to cut short on your sleeping hours." She said but she had more anger this time and frowned her eyebrows. "You promised me"
