Chapter Two
"Don't worry about the fog girls. Just drive straight and you should reach me. We have some things to discuss." said an enchanting voice. Her voice sounded strangely familiar.
"It's her." Mina murmured to me.
"Oh yeah!" I realized. "Drive on. We can confront her now." I spoke loud enough for the girls to hear.
We drove on, listening to Selene's convertible. The fog became less dense, the outline of a meadow forming not too far away.
"Just a bit farther Selene." said the lady.
"She knows my name." Selene's voice was barely a whisper.
"Yes, I do." replied the voice, "I've known about you girls since the day you were born. In a sense, I am your guardian."
I didn't know what to say after that. I was speechless, with a million questions in my mind. The others must have felt the same way, because we continued on without conversation.
The fog finally lifted, revealing the most breathtaking view imaginable.
The meadow was a clearing, surrounded by dense forest and a lake to the north. On the other end of the lake were mountains. The foliage was dark and eerie, yet abnormally inviting. The sky was dark, with the sun setting over the far mountains. The clearing itself was circular, with a stone table and stools in the middle.
On one of the stone stools sat the woman haunting our dreams.
"Hello girls! I am so glad it is finally time to reveal to you, your true selves and futures. Come take a seat." she motioned towards the stools.
I turned around to face four attentive faces. I nodded my head towards the table. "Let's go. It's not like we have anything to lose. We can atleast listen to her and try to understand the situation." I jumped out of the car and waited for them to follow suit.
After going over my suggestion in their heads, one by one, the girls came and stood beside me. We walked towards the table, meeting the lady from our dreams halfway.
She wore an old, army coloured robe on her frumpy frame. Wrinkles covered her face, and her white frizzy hair was hidden beneath the hood of her robe. But, for some reason, she seemed fake. A weird glow surrounded her. The form didn't suit her enchanting voice. Something told me that wasn't her true self.
What the hell? Might as well give it a shot. "You can drop the act." I told her.
That earned me puzzled looks. "Hmm?" she acted naive.
"That's not your true form, am I right?" I walked up to her.
She giggled and clapped her hands. "You've always been a smart girl Eileen." she winked and began to change.
Her frumpy body became a tall, curvy, tan one. Her frizzy white hair became long and dark brown. Her eyes remained the same, green with flecks of gold. The robe she wore became a silky white gown. Now there's the lady that matches the voice. "My name is Suna."
"How did you know?" asked Selene.
"I honestly don't know. She looked fake. I just took a wild guess."
"Eileen has many talents, including her ability to see past glamour. Glamour is something, like magic, you can use to alter your outer appearance. Only skilled Supernaturals can master the art of glamour." Suna glanced at our faces, "I can imagine you have many questions. I shall answer as many as possible. The rest I can answer later. Now please take a seat."
This time we walked to the table without hesitation. I took the seat facing Suna.
"Before our questions," Mina said, "Why don't you tell us about yourself. And tell us everything you think is important."
