The "Best" Birthday Ever

"What the fuck u mean only immediate family. I'm his girl for a couple months now and this is his best friend of years. So stop being a bitch and let us the fuck in!" Alicia got wild and crazed as the head nurse refused to let her into Troy's room.

"Excuse me young lady but if u don't calm ur lil ass down then imma have to excuse u from the emergency room." an ignorant police officer inquired.

Alicia began to scowl. "Excuse yaself. Now don't make me have to take my size 7 shoe and shove it up your gun totin-"

"You can go in now." the nurse informed. "Room 5 in ICU."

Alicia and Kevin walked through the entrance of ICU exchanging dirty looks with the nurse.

"Sorry about the inconvenience briefly. We just have to make sure our patients are well taken for and shielded from harm." the doctor apologized."Anyway, I presume you are interested in what's wrong with your friend here. Are his parents here?"

"No. They're on vacation. Why?" Kevin abruptly answered.

"Well I would've rathered to inform them about this but..." the doctor hesitated. "...he's got a pretty bad concussion and by the looks of the x-ray, his skull has a linear fracture. Now we don't know exactly how bad the concussion is so we'll have to wait 'til tomorrow when the mri results come back."

"What?! There has to be something else that you can do until then." Alicia managed to choke out between sobs.

"It will be okay, just don't freak out. We'll stay here for the night with him and see what's beingsaid in the morning." Kevin pulled Alicia in for a comforting hug.

After a couple of minutes Kevin and Alicia went in to see a heavily sedated Troy just laying in the bed. Kevin stood to the far left of the room in a corner andAlicia sat in a chair beside the bed holding Troy's hand and dspeaking paking to him as if he could hear her. You could almost feel the grief and sadness fill the room more and more each seond.
