_Part Three_
They have an actual fight after that, where Molly continues to yell and throws anything she can reach.
Towards the end, she willed herself to calm down and said-
“I’m going to leave and come back tomorrow. And when I do, I want all your things gone. I want to never see you again. Just, just get out of my life. I can’t handle this anymore,” Molly quietly mumbled, gripping the ends of her gray sweater.
Nathan just nodded, his face blank as Molly grabbed her keys and purse from where she had just set them down.
She opened the door, stepping out into the hall.
“Goodbye, Nathan.”
And the door is closed.

Molly doesn’t go home the next day, afraid to face the fact that she actually let him go.
‘The One That Got Away’ by Katy Perry is on instant replay as she sits on a bench in Central Park.
Her dark purple headphones are starting to make her ears sore, but she ignores it.
She stares at the playground opposite her, feeling the tears well up in her eyes as she thinks about her future.
She thinks about how she could have started a family with Nathan.
She thought maybe he would’ve changed.
Maybe he would’ve stayed.
Molly felt a tear fall, her hand swiping it away.
“Who am I kidding,” she thinks aloud, “He has no sense of commitment.”
And she walks home.
__
Molly could only hope he did leave.
That he didn’t leave anything.
But because he always forgot something, she found his toothbrush in the bathroom the next morning.
She never felt so alone.
