"I fucking hate LA!!!" I shouted in tune with whatever random song was playing on the radio. I was stuck in traffic and my interview was fifteen minutes away. This traffic completely different than back home, I would never have an issue like this. I guess it just goes to show how different Pennsylvania and California are.
I wasn't far from the venue where my interview takes place, but I was in gridlock traffic. I was starting to wonder if I should call them ahead of time to let them know I'd be late. I had ten minutes until my interview and no sign of traffic progressing. But, as if heaven had answered my plea, the cars before me began to move. Turns out there was a small fender bender blocking the road they finally cleaned up.
I finally made it with 5 minutes left to spare. I quickly grabbed my resume and phone and got out of my 2014 chevy Cruze, locking it as I ran into the building.
It looked nothing too different from a regular office when I walked in. There was a little seating area by the receptionists deck and old magazines. I laughed internally at the resemblance to a doctor's office. I walked up to the receptionist and said a short hello. She looked to be about my age, with blonde hair tied into a messy bun and green eyes hidden behind glasses. She smiled brightly at me and as she talked, I caught the subtle hint of a southern accent.
"What can I help you with today?" She asked sweetly.
"I have an interview for smosh games today."
She nodded in understanding.
"Just take a seat right over there and I will call them down."
I thanked her and sat down in a plush couch, taking out my phone and aimlessly scrolling through Facebook. It was then that my nerves were setting in, although I did a good job at hiding it.
About five minutes later, a tall, bulky man with chocolate brown hair and a matching beard walked over, a piece of paper in his hands. He turned his eyes to meet mine and smiled, walking up to me and extending his hand.
"You must be Natalie Evans." He said, "I'm Matt Raub. It's nice to meet you."
I reached out my hand and shook his, standing to my feet and smiling as confidently as I could muster.
"Its great to meet you too." I responded and Matt smiled back, motioning for me to follow him.
Matt led me into the elevator and hit the button for the third floor. While we waited to get to the floor, matt and I made small talk about the job, where I'm from, how my trip went (I drove from Pennsylvania to California in 3 days) and things relating to it.
Finally, we got to the third floor and made a right down the hall until he stopped at the door to his left and opened it, ushering me in politely.
The room was pretty bare. There was a table in the middle of the room with a chair sitting in front of it. But there were two other men behind the table. One seemed thin, with light brown, spiked hair, and what seemed to be blue eyes. The other was a little more built with black hair and brown eyes. They both smiled politely as we entered.
"Natalie," matt started, "I'd like you to meet Joe Barretta and Sunny Peabody."
I smiled and greeted them as I took the seat in front of the table, matt taking the chair between Sunny and Joe.
"Is that your resume?" Matt asked. I nodded and handed the folder to him, watching as he opened the folder and read the resume inside. I was desperately trying to read his expressions when he handed the paper to sunny, who then handed it to Joe. They all seemed to nod in approval to each other before Matt spoke up.
"So, we honestly have 2 positions open. One for an editor and one for a face."
"A.... face?" I asked in confusion.
