"Promise you'll always remember me," he had said.

She shook her head, "don't make me promise that."

He looked up, hurt.

"People only ask you to remember them if they're planning to leave, or they're dying," she told him, "if you're planning either of those, please don't ask me to remember it."

He smiled sadly, "it's only temporary, to protect you, hermana."

"You don't need to protect me anymore, let me protect you."

He shook his head, "you know I can't do that" and with that he walked out, never looking back.
