Chapter 3: (How about now?!)
After Zach had explained the 'not so complicated if you really think about it miss Maggy' patterns, they headed back out to the main quarters As they walked through the alley, a thin girl strutted up to them. She had softly curled blonde hair, and striking green eyes. Honestly, she was the most attractive girl Maggy had ever seen.
"Hey, sweetie!" She cooed in an obnoxiously flirty voice. Her finger traced Zach's face, and she rested her pretty head on his shoulder. Suddenly, for just a second, Maggy felt jealous. Her thin brown hair and grayish eyes were no match for Barbie-girl's looks. Then, feeling ridiculous, Maggy pushed the thought out of her head, laughing at herself. Seriously? How could she feel jealous over some stupid boy she's literally just met? Besides, he'd probably known blondie for years.
"Hey, Clara. Maggy, this is... Umm... My friend." Clara laughed, snuggling into his side.
"Babe, come on..." She smiled, mocking him, "my friend.... Haha!" Zach gave Maggy a shrug, smiling and kissing the top of Clara's head.
'Okay,' thought Maggy, 'I officially hate this chick.' The other girl looked Maggy up and down, snorting just so that Zach couldn't hear.
"Oooh, who's this, Zachie-poo?" Her voice was sickeningly sweet, and at the last word she sent a cold glare toward Maggy.
"Oh yeah! This is Maggy... She's one of us."
'One of us?' Thought Maggy, deciding to ask that later.
"Well, it's so great to meet you, Maddy!" She turned to Zach and smiled, as if saying, "look at me! Look how good I did!"
Maggy looked up, returning the glare.
"It's Maggy."
Clara narrowed her eyes, shocked.
"Oh, well. Same thing." And with that, she tossed her perfect hair over her shoulder, pulling Zach along with her.
Trudging along behind the 'couple' Maggy wondered about how her tragic cootie infested life had turned into a sad, depressing love story. After pondering her options she eventually decided to shake off this 'new' boy and focus mainly on survival.
Entering into the 'rat hole' Maggy stumbled upon the Barbie and the boy she had somehow managed to forget about. "... Bringing her here will only put us in more danger. Plus,..." Barbie gave Zach a puppy dog look and moved closer to him, now only half an arms length away from touching his shoulder. "I don't like the way she looks at you all soft and dreamy like."
"Just... Just don't worry about her!" Zach fired back in a flustered tone. "She's here until we can dump her, okay Clara?!"
