Petalheart was dead. Really dead. Bumblestripe had just told him with a little fight. And it wasn't Sparrow. She jumped off a cliff after heartbreak. Thorntail groomed his fur down, wanting to rethink and cool down.
"Where's the nearest river?" He asked Sparrow quietly.
"Why?"
"I need to refresh myself." He responded.
"Behind the willow trees." Sparrow meowed.
He padded behind the willow trees, seaching for water. He sighed quietly and sat next to the flowing water. And across was a white silhouette doing what seemed to be fishing
"Hello?"
It's ears go down and stays silent.
"Hello?" He repeats.
"W-What do you want?" The voice asked in tears.
He blinked and realized it was Petalheart. He was hesitant. He supposed he would explain the whole situation between him and Sparrow.
"Petalheart, you don't understand. I like you yes. But I love Sparrow. Please try to understand." He meowed. "I was just trying to be honest."
"I don't want to hear it." She snapped before running off.
He followed her, leading to a flower patch. The same place she'd go to calm down or cry. Before approaching he looked around for any other cats.
"L-Leave me....alone..."
"But you need understand Petalheart."
"No Thorntail. You need to understand."
"What is there to understand! I like you as a friend, but I love Sparrow. She kills and puts cats to pain too often but I still love her." He meowed. Thorntail had no clue why he loved her truthfully. She was an evil cat who was bloodthirsty but she was once Ravenfeather.
"You don't understand the feeling of love someone so much that you would do anything for them and find out they never loved you back." She hissed tears in her eyes. "You don't understand!"
His ears twitch. He felt hurt. But again, he was sort of the whole problem that lead to this. He should have gotten with Ravenfeather. He should've never been mates with Petalheart. If only he could go back in time to fix all of this.
"Y-Yeah that's what I thought..." She said moving away further.
He bit his tongue and lashed his tail. Thorntail turned around stomping back to DarkClan. Sparrow was waiting for him at the enterance. He padded over to her and earned a nuzzle. Thorntail purred and nuzzled in responce.
"It's kinda late don't you think?" She mewed.
"Yeah." He agreed watching the darkening sky. "Sorry about earlier. He just bursted into camp..."
"It's fine." She purred.
He gave her a lick. Sparrow smiled and brushed her tail under his chin before walking into her den. Thorntail looked around the camp before coming in a moment after. She was laying in the moss bed waiting for him again. The golden tom comes over to her, both purring. They both fell asleep purring. Tails interwinded. He slept dreaming of the world being fine. But he wasn't in DarkClan. He was back in MonarchClan with one of the kits from his previous dreams. The cat seemed happy. When Thorntail went to get a closer looked he woke up and gave himself a shake. He looked at Sparrow who had woken up and gave her an affectionate lick.
"Could I get a tour around the place?" He asked.
She nodded and stood up. The tour wasn't long. Everywhere was close to each other. It was easy to remember. But of course he got looks from cats, and tried to stay calm. After a little bit they were done.
