"Melly! The mail is here!" my room mate called out. I flung myself out of bed and rushed outside, dodging back in and putting my average clothes on before I got far however. I brushed and tied my straight black hair back into a ponytail and scrubbed my teeth quickly. Running back outside and retrieving the heavy cardboard box from the side of my mailbox.

I took it back in and hauled it to the dinning room couch. My room mate, Sasha, sitting above me on the couch with her arms crossed as she gazed down at me with calm blue eyes. Her light brown hair tied back in a small ponytail as well and her sharp square glasses reflecting the dining room light. I retrieved some scissors out of the kitchen and sliced through the sticky tape, opening the box excitedly and pulling out the late birthday present my brother brought me. An xbox...

I couldn't help myself and I squealed, excited since I had not played a video game on console for years, much too occupied with my writing and work. I pulled out some games from the bottom of the box, they were all my brother's second hand games, but he obviously considered them of some value to give them to me. I scanned my eyes through the games; Team Fortress, Mass Effect, Sonic '06...

I was delighted, I wasn't really sure what I was playing. The only games I play constantly are Minecraft on the pc and flash games, but I had at least ten games here and I had at least heard of five of the names. Some of which I knew where very much liked among gamers. I flipped through them, unable of what to play first. A few caught my eye so I put them aside, shuffling them through with my eyes closed until I had three. I laid them side by side next to me and opened my eyes, the first one was Minecraft. I didn't realise that it was in the box and must of placed it in the pile by mistake, I picked it up however and put it in the xbox. Setting it up with Sasha's help and booting up the game, taking turns to play and giggling loudly each time we would run into a cactus in the desert we spawned in or a zombie would scare us from behind.

We played for an hour, Sandra in an unusual chipped mood after playing though having to go back to her room and focus on studying for her upcoming university entrance exam. I selected the next game in the pile after a while when she left and opened the game container, raising an eye at the black marker scribbling on the cover that spelled out, 'Do NOT play this game!'.

Popping it in however, figuring it probably just wasn't to my brother's tastes. The intro started up and I sped past it, getting to the character select screen where I looked curiously at the three figures, all anthropomorphic animals which a appealing design that resembled either porcupines or hedgehogs. The blue and black ones had 100% complete under them but the silver one only had fifty-eight percent. I selected the first one that had appeared however and booted the game up. Sitting through a small loading screen for fifteen minutes excitedly, a white screen appearing to my disappointment however.

I reached out to restart the xbox though stopped suddenly, unable to move as if I was paralysed. Chills ran down my spine uncontrollably for no apparent reason and my body felt stiff, like something was overflowing inside me and my body was having trouble coping. My eyes suddenly started seeing double and the front of my body reaching for the xbox switch suddenly felt on fire. A bright flash of white suddenly sparked in my eyes and I was made unconscious in no less then a second from that. I sunk into a prickly sleep.
